    Need Commander Tips/Info

Tried Commander last night, and won the 2 games under my command. I felt like there was probably more I could have done to help direct things- does anyone know of any great tutorials, or just have some tips to being a great commander?

    Thanks

really only a few points to follow.

#1 - You are playing Commander...this means you are not a PILOT! You can't effectively do your job while flying.

#2 - Commander can only be as good as his team (See below).
#3 - Use Radar then Drop the UAV where you see it is needed to help your troops.
#4 - Don't be quick on the draw with the Arty. Assess the combat situation and troop movement first. Don't drop it in a heavy combat zone with friendlies around.
#5 - Point out troop movement (mouse over and right click/select enemy troops) that can be a flag threat after the radar scan that are out of the UAV sweep. (Individuals flanking from main combat zones for back flags)
#6 - Help your squad leaders as much as possible. Drop UAV and Supplies when they request and when it's available.

All commanders will drop arty on Friendlies once in a while...your fault or not..send a "SORRY" out to the ones you TK'd and continue on with what you are doing.
If your side is not working as a team, you are not going to do well either, your roll is Support the boys on the ground and hope that they support you by watching where arty falls and not running into the zone, listening to orders (if their combat situation allows) and being in Squads so you can help direct them on the battlefield.

Finally, there are always people who think they could do a better job then you and will try to vote you out. This usually occures during a game where your team starts out the game with no commander and you take command after the sh*t hits the fan and try to reorganize and take control of the situation. If you get voted out....the chances are the one who takes over is not going to be much more successfull then you were. Specially if 1/2 your side is not in a squad.

Awesome, thanks for the great tips. I'm pretty new to BF2, started off as an engineering then medic- and got my first command taste last night. It was great.

        thanks again,
