Flag Capture Or Missions??

While flag capture is very fun, I was thinking about how cool it would be for EA to implement actual missions in BF2. For example, hostage location and rescue, Medevac chopper missions, etc... I think this would be a great addition to the game. What are your thoughts?

But no, this is BATTLEFIELD, missions are to cap flags and kill the enemy. Hostage rescue? this isn't a counter-terrorist operation.

People are making a pirate mod for this why not hostage rescue... would require a lot of modifications to the actual game as it is not aimed to do that at all. Then again during CT operations we don't really see a chopper flying in shooting rockets, or tanks/APCs etc so doubt it will work :hmm:

i think thats what the SF expanasion is all about.

They don't want to change BF2 itself because its BF2. But a SF expansion gives you a bit of variety. I'm guessing the SF expansion will be a lot more reminicent of Americas Army only on a larger scale.

Yes yes it would.

But it would also open up a whole jummble of new problems. I think we can wait till BF3 for that stuff.

Or atleast when EA can be very close to perfect (which they are in the buisness to be near perfect).
