I Finally Fixed My Computer Problem.

Some of you may have noticed the numerous topics i made here trying to get my computer to run correctly in BF2. My problem was, "No matter what video settings, FPS would not go above 25"

Well, The problem was: The 2gb of RAM i was using had timings of 3,4,4,8. I took that out and replaced it with 1gb of 2,2,2,5 and it works GREAT now. All settings high, 1024 x 768, no AA, 80 FPS.

but i have one question. Take a look at this screen shot of my memory and tell me if this is normal.



Notice the Timmings of the All the RAM together (left) and then the timings of the ram individually (right)

also, the frequency is at 200mhz, but in bios i have DRAM Frequency (I think it says Frequency) set to 400, and the RAM is DDR 400 (PC 3200), Is this good or bad?

seeing you dont need that 1gb of ram anymore send it over m8

it will do you no good for gaming. it actuall will work ok with Source games, just cause it doesnt need to transfer textures as fast or something. (not sure why, but i did work well in source)

and I am putting 1 gb in my sisters computer, and possibly another 1gb in my other sisters computer. they don't game at all, but they do alot of college homework and could use the extra ram.

P.S. the extra ram i have is cheep, i got it for $33 a stick at Newegg, so if you really want it, just go buy some.

I can answer your question about the 200 Mhz. DDR ram is supposed to show 200 Mhz. DDR stands for Double Data Rate. Therefore, DDR400= 200 x 2. Hope this helps. I did a lot of reading up on Ram earlier today in my search to fix my problems.

I have 4 sticks of 512 in my machine and I think that my timings are screwed up because of it and that is why my game keeps crashing to BSOD with stop errors pointing to Ram problems. Gonna fiddle with it tonight to see what I can find out.

Do you have an AMD processor. Performance memory that is CAS latency of 2 will normally be limited to 2.5 by AMD processors.
