I need help badly, I cannot play the game w/o using shift as crouch!

I had this set this way when the game first came out, but after the patch, (I hope you guys that run with the LMB are happy..... ) I cannot bind SHIFT to crouch.

It always says duplicate key found in Helicopter controls in which there is NO SHIFT in Helicopter controls.

This is just infuriating.

I reformated therefore lost my old settings.

Same here I HATE this, I reinstaled my BF2 and now I cant bind shift!
I mananged to bind it tough to crucnh but now I cant use it as afterburner on Airplane settings. Why is this!? Anyone who has shift as crunch and afterburner please post your controls.con please!

You can not assign a key that is in use. To solve the problem clear the conflicting key. For example your "left shift" for crouch, when you get a conflict go to all the sections look for that key & clear it (highlight then press esc). By default in the game "left shift" controls: (common) Sprint, (land vehical) Boost & (aircraft) Afterburner these commands are linked together because they do the same thing so you have to reassign a different key for vehicals & aircraft.

press a random button that isnt in use, then reassign it. That's how I got mine working.:)

Worst case scenario....if it won't let you unbind the key in the game, you can go into your controls config file and delete the binding for the shift key. Then go into the game an set the key you want.
