where are you getting that information?

there are few locations that anybody can stay in for more than 30seconds. its support, dont try and play like a sniper.

I noted that it's a useless gun on any map not-Karkand (it's in my post). I'm not surprised that you're mostly happy with it, seeing as you've played Karkand more than twice as long as any other map.
It's not my fault all the damn servers play the map...:p

I'm not. If I did, I'd be 200m away and be missing everything.

I would like to add though, that if you turn your sound to High and Hardware (assuming you have a good sound card), the sound of the PKM is almost worth the price of admission alone.

But seriously, with regards to vehicles, don't try going full auto on a brand new tank. What I found it's best for is when a damaged chopper is returning for repairs. Or a tank or APC is fleeing with lots of damage. You can manage to finish these vehicles off. Just keep in mind that the back plate all those vehicles is always weaker.
Yeah i haven't unlocked the pkm yet but im going too becaue i love the SAW and yeah the pkm sounds awesome.

So awesome in fact i have found when a team mate hgas it and lets rip on a load of unsuspecting enemies they think there being shot at by a car or a apc or somthing and run for cover :)

Thank you for so eloquently pinpointing the reason why this gun is so useless. Combine that with the booming sound, and only the most unaware players will die to the PKM.
In the beginning of that paragraph i say "at longer distances..." and that's what i mean.

Of course it's suicide taking on a sniper with a light machine gun if the distance between you is more than 50m.

Come on.. If u just think of this matter in terms of who can rack up the most kills/minute, then OK, the PKM propably isn't the best choice.. but there's so much more to this game than that.. What i'm trying to say is that a capable support guy who knows his PKM is a very good addition to any squad.

if you're going to shoot at someone who is very very very VERY far from you, instead of leading them or shooting above them or whatever, try to shoot at them IN A CIRCULAR MOTION while going FULL AUTO! only let go of the fire button when your pkm has overheated... but keep firing in a circular motion.

practice this technique and soon, you'll be accused of using an aimbot!

My Support Score is dropping too. ill get used to it i guess
Maybe he shot it in the wheels.

I was thinking about this topic more this morning and if I could unlock a weapon all over again, I would not choose the PKM. The SAW is more balanced and shoots out a proper amount of bullets to cover the inaccuracy problem with the weapon.

One of these two options need to be changed for the PKM to be more effective. Change the reticle so in prone it is ready to be fired faster. In prone you still have to wait a second or two for the tightest reticle, or change the rate of fire of the weapon. I was looking at the stats of the weapon compared to the other Support kits and the PKM's rate of fire is nearly 50% slower than the others. So that means you are laying on the floor praying that the next bullet will connect with the target before they own you.

I think too many people are convinced this weapon owns due to the 45 damage it deals, but if the bullets cannot connect to the target fast enough, what good is 45 damage?

The PKM is pretty effective against smoking attack choppers. Fire in short bursts and just keep going. Because an attack chopper is quite big, you can hit them from quite a distance.
Example, I was playing on Sharqi Peninsula and was prone on top of the East building site building when a smoking Cobra flew over my head on the way to the TV sation to repair. I started to unload on it but it got to the TV station, I thought I might as well carry on firing so did and as it manouvered over the helo-pad, it blew up, killing both occupants!!

Just remeber, you can hit bigger targets from further away!
                        PKM rocks!!!!

Roderick is an experienced Support player - I spent some time on a server with him the other night.

Take our word for it - the PKM is not what it ought to be.

Try to set up at choke points (holes in the fence, and places where people come through single file), just unload on the onslaught. Try to get fairly close to them, but not too close. The best thing to do is to fire into a crowd of infantry and don't stop firing until you stop seeing red names.

That's a sure fire way of getting your ass nailed to the wall, because one of them will always aim and plop you right between the eyes, while you're firing 'blindly'. I'd always aim for a target/s and then let loose with controlled bursts at each target from chest height and let the recoil pull up.

But whatever works for you do it...............:)
