ok last night i was sharqi and all of you have the seen those aluminum ribbed fences -- i was capping a flag and a guy in an FAV pulled up -- i was well out of sight ( i saw him on uav and heard him ) i'm lying there waiting for him with my friend PKM -- he starts unloading on me through the fence -- yes he did kill me -- i know the game is supposed to have penetrable material but when i tried with my PKM to spray a wall behind which there was two guys -- hell no (i was close and prone so dont say a PKM is not accurate) what's your experience with this?

Hmmm. I find that I can shoot through the corrugated stuff even with the g36c. I wonder if it can only shoot so far past the fence since in those cases I'm usually firing with the enemy right behind the fence.Comment

only some guns can shoot through the thin walls. i think all the vehicle mounted guns can penetrate the thin walls like the fences.
i don't think any of the regular infantry weapons can. i would think that the m95 and the pkm would be able to.
anyone have a definite list of what can shoot through thin walls?Comment

I've had it work with all weapons, even the pistol. You have to know which kinds of walls are penetrable and which aren't.
Practice on single player on Karkand, or Oman Gulf and test it out.
Anything like brick(good example is the material on the little building in the MEC HQ of Karkand) is impermeable. Anything thin or weak in quality will allow for bullets to pass through. I'm not sure if there are differing ranges of permeability or if it's a "0 or 1" sort of thing.
The AT rockets don't really act the way they should in terms for the sake of balance. Obviously an SRAW rocket would make a tin fence shatter, but the game physics simply don't allow for that.Comment

I know that at least the support guns go right through the corrugated stuff and I can even get some hits through a few of the wooden bits laying around sometimes. I'd guess that the other small arms work too they just don't usually have enough ammo to warrant spray'n'pray through a solid wall in my opinion.
I *think* the vehicle machine-guns can go through dumpster sides too, not sure about that though (never remember being *killed* by 'em when I was hiding in a dumpster but I remember taking some hits I think).Comment

its simple.
anything that fires bullets goes through the thin fences/walls. shells, rockets, etc dont because the engine cant or wont draw it. splash damage does not go through fences either.
nothing goes through anything any thicker than those fences.Comment

Well funny you mentioned it.
Last night on Karkland (I prefer Karkland to karkand), I was sitting in a FAV and racked up a bunch of kills shooting through a fence about 16...luckily my commander put up a uav so I could see the p-d off suckas trying to flank me...resulting in mo' kills.
Moreover, I've had a Helo shoot through brick and turn me into swiss cheese.
