why no music in bf2?

EA spokesman or the producer has explained that they couldn't identify the songs that defines the present generation so they took it out. Of course, another alternative is that so they could lessen the cost of production by not buying any licenses for each music.

The perfect music for the present generation is fast heavy metal/ rock music. If you are in a heavy gunfight it is frikkin awesome to hear metal at the same time. Something like Amorphis - Drowned maid

Nah, BF2 should have music for all forms of gameplay.
Primal Scream - Kill All Hippies is perfect for flying around in a heli and trying to brainwash people.
Something heavy, like Killswitch Engage is good for big firefights.
And some laid-back jazz like David Sanborn for when you can't be arsed to do anything and you're camping the enemy's spawn tbh.

remember that the music has to come from a vehicle, so if your camping somewhere it has to be in a vehic.

i mean im happily blowing the enemy to bits in the Abrams and think hmm shall i have th radio on...select a track at random... and the ****ing spice girls comes on!!

To those of you talking about an in-game media player, in the older builds of Battlefield 2, there was an upgrade you could get for your soldier. It was called: an MP3 player.

They took it out though (duh). I know thawt if you look around at old screenies of BF2, that you'll see a BFHQ screenie showcasing the MP3 player.
