Screen edge?

Why do friendlies near the edge of my screen have an arrow pointing in thier direction instead of thier name. I have a good in or more of space for thier name. I have killed a few teamates from this crap.

It allows you to see what direction your teammates are from you. If you look over a little more in that direction the tag will show above them. If the guys right on the edge of the display then the tag will still show the arrow. Just pay attention to the uniform or turn towards him more.

I have started to do that, but why can't it just say it all the way to the edge of the screen then be an arrow.
