Well, K/D ratio doesn't work just like the BMI (body mass index) scale doesn't work for some people. For the K/D ratio, there are whores, and noob naders. for the BMI scale, muscular people don't work, muscle weighs more than fat. ANd time played doesn't show much, cuase they could just be idling on a ranked server, and time played doesn't match experience, cause they could only be a corporal, but have like 150 hours under their belt. And for team score, ammo whoring on karkand, you're like guarenteed to get at least 50 points for team score on a 32 player server. ANd then there's SPM, again an APC whore or a Heli whore could easily get tons of points. and TKs don't work so well, especially for commanders, it's not their fault people run like idiot to the arty strike. and the urban map time/other map times don't work, i play on Kubra Dam exclusively, but i'm not that good of a player. and for vehicle kills/all kills, noob naders and BH whores, since capturing flags isn't killing
. And for commander score/time play, cause it's not my fault that people don't stop running to the arty strike. And flag captures and assists/total time. BH whores, cause they just go around and capture. So there is no simple formula to skill.

Its not just basic K/D ratio you want to look at because as others have pointed out this can include some dodgy whoring tactics with vehicles.
I think a good guide is K/D ratio on each infantry class so drill down into your stats and see what your K/D ratio is with the assault rifle. A good ratio on
that means you can shoot and avoid dieing much when not surrounded by armor plating. This is what I would base skill judgements on.
I would also only really take note of the assault rifle stats because some of the other class's sort of come with some self sacrafice on them so said stats can make you look worse than you actually are. As AT class for instance I often lay down my life to get off that shot that might just help out my team in killing that tank.Comment

Re: skill calculation???
Well, whenever this place upgraded I lost my login password(I had it set to remember me and it's some freakin number instead of a word), and I'm at work and can't access webmail, so this will have to do for today.
Last I checked got3n.com wasn't working(server is too busy) so I couldn't check anyone's stats to get a rating. Sucks.Comment

Without using a big mathematical formula, it's the probably the best way.
Thank-you.Originally posted by TeavesKills to deaths only shows the combat rating, this is nothing to do with skill whatsoever, K/D is for deathmatches. In fact some of the best players have tiny scores every map, because they spend a whole map helping out those people that then get big Kill/Death ratios

Re: skill calculation???
I'll tell you now that i SUCK at just running around and killing people but i figured out what i am good at and i stick to that my K/D ratio will reflect that i don't spend as much time actually killing but i have almost as many flag caps as i do kills plus the 100's of revives and heals i have and get me in the air and i'm trouble so k/d ratio isn't really a fair gauge of skillComment

Re: skill calculation???
Of course the game is not all about who is the best killer but when talking about skill it is pretty tricky to nail down some of the more team orientated skills. A good example is last night on Clean sweep I was AT and defending the first base the US reach. Now I kept taking all the amor that approached down to the level where the driving was bailing and then getting killed by team mates. In fact I seemed to be having one of those nights where everyone bailed before the armor blew. Result was I had no score most of the round. I was being a useful team player though.
I think in general when players talk about skill it is how good a player is in a one of one situation and in that regard T/K ratio is still a good indicator if you can elementate whoring score from genuine skill score.Comment
