First you'd have to try and define what a 'skilled player' is. Then you'd have to break down what the specific attributes of a skilled player are. Then you'd have to determine whether the stats that are collected are capable of reflecting the skills.
skill calculation???

Wow...4900 grenade launcher kills and 44 hours used with. No comment.
Also, 87 hours on Karkand, 9 on Mashtuur and not more than 6 on any other. There's a lesson here, kids.
I think SPM is a more telling stat than K/D.
There are too many variables involved in how K/D's come about: Air/Ground Vehicle lovers, commanders, the self-sacrificing medics and engy's(w00t for the medics like me), etc.
What we need is some complex formula that takes up 3 chalkboards like the one they use for NFL QB rating to determine your "BF2 Skill Rating"Comment

Therefore, i was wondering what you all would say would be the closest thing to accrautely representing a players "skill" ? points per hour? points per round? i usually look at a players points per hour played ratio to determine how EFFECTIVE a player is. then look to see if this is skewed by tank whoring or bhawk whoring and such. Just looking for opinions, since its said alot on there forums that rank doesnt = skill.
You wanna add noobnader who plays Kark exclusively to that m8.Comment

Since work is mad boring I'm going to work on this BF2 Skill Formula
The criteria I'm thinking of including are:
Time Played
K/D
K/min
SPM
T-score/min
Combat Score/Team Score
Teamkills, Team Damage
Urban Map time/Total Time
Vehicle Kills/Total Kills
Commander Pts/Commander Time
Flag Captures+Assists/Total Time
My hope is that I can make it in such a way that an average score is 100, and then make a bell curve. Should make for a controversial and interesting project.

LOL noob nading isnt the same as vehicle whoring. your going to equate nade launcher to full bhawk or a tank?!?! really!??! its cheap ya, its whoring, errr well ya but its not like vehicles where it takes 1000 damage points and your imune to small arms. at least as assault your still an infantry man prone to being killed. there is a difference.
o ya and your veering off topic....Comment

Well, I have a beta version of my skill calculator at the moment.
Mine came out to be 124.22, I put in what I felt to be average stats and got 100.38.
I'm sure if I put in some others stats on here it would be much higher. Feel free to post here if you want me to try yours out, and give me a link to a working and up to date stats site and I'll punch the data into Excel.Comment

unless you're a mini-gunner on a bh and you and your engineer friends always team up.Originally posted by OriginalGangsterKills per death is probably the most accurate way of telling how skilled a person is, so your probably pretty skilled.
i mean, you'll probably get 20 something kills and die only about 5 times. still and indication of a players' skill???Comment

Well, I can't find any stats sites that are functioning, so I'll go by what's in your sig, the old data on bf2s.com and fudge the rest.
EDIT: got information off of got3n.com, only thing I didn't get was teamkilling info, so I had to project it. I got 191.58. You > me.Comment
