The whole thing is kind of humorous. Yes, the C4 in the game is underpowered, but if you look at the packs, I don't think there's much actual C4 in them, it's mostly wiring. It's not like you're walking around with bricks of the stuff that could level half a city block.
Also, since when are Spec. Ops. demolition experts?
Sounds like something an Engineer would be doing, not a Special Forces soldier. I know it's all for balance, but it would make more sense if:
Spec Ops had Claymores
Engineers had C4
Anti-Tank had AT Mines
Snipers had guns that workedComment

Your statement is a dumb statement so please try and pass the 3rd grade before your teenage years slip by.Originally posted by WynterheartTHIS IS AN ARCADE GAME, NOT A REALISTIC GAME!
The game while a game should have some dynamic that works to try and copy some mannerism of the real life weapons used in the world.
With the power of C4, there should be some form of control to using it and not just tossing extremely powerful explosives as if they were grenades. Complete BS that I expect to see patched down the road.Comment

Well, IF you could throw c4 like frhisbees, imagine two spec. ops at each side of an enemy tank, sending between them from 40 feet c4 after c4, then grinning as the hit the dirt, sending the tank to heaven :evil:Comment

I am starting to see this a lot more on Karkland only servers. AT is rarely used on these servers unless favored by the player. On a 64 man server I will see maybe 3 at most on my side playing AT and that is me being one of them for the break in on the US side of the map and using the DAO-12.
But I will see a lot of Special Ops and most of them just toss C4 after C4 through the paths and run away and blow it.Comment

doesnt matter. sticking c4 to the side of a tank will force the majority of the blast away from the tank. you would rock it but not blow it. the best you could hope for is some spalling, but because of the kevlar inner lining the damage caused by it would be doubtfull. though you may make everybody inside deaf.Originally posted by rombaftI think you don't know the massive power of C4 , if you look at one pack the spec ops is carieing it must be more then 1Kg of C4 .
And now look at this explosives tabel
C4 is 1.34 times stronger then TNT , TNT has massive power, then if you actualy put one C4 kit on a tank, meaning there is 0mm space between the tank and the C4 , well, your tank is gone with one single C4 pack
example: you know what makes a claymore blow up in one direction? a small plate on the 'back' of the explosive. the force always goes the easiest way and that small plate is all thats needed to channel the blast to the front. irl its still deadly from behind for about 10 meters but the kill zone to the front is like 50 meters.
its the same w/ tanks. you either need a shaped charge or to place it on a weak point. one underneath would probably work because the ground would force the blast upwards.Comment

Is this the "toss C4, then quickly jump to bounce it off your knee" exploit? You can bounce it about 25m if you hit it right. I didn't know this was an exploit.Comment

Well Navy SEALS go through BUDS (Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL / Training). Granted its not underwater and these are marines, it is fairly close.Originally posted by ZapStarfighterAlso, since when are Spec. Ops. demolition experts?
Just my 2 cents.Comment

you can't throw c4 like its a grenade anyway.
and what does that have to do with my age? shows how much you know. guess its too late, i'm 25. you're probably one of those bh whores who gets blown up by c4 all the time, lol.Comment

Depends on the specialty. Spec Ops (at least Army) has different specialties, some are comm, some are weapons experts, some are combat engineers, medics, etc.Originally posted by ZapStarfighter

I believe the engineers do demolition.

Remember people that C4 can be made into any size depending on the size of explosion you want. So if they really wanted they could in real life make a C4 grenade. But we are moving off topic.Originally posted by Wynterheartlol, my statement is dumb? its the same statement that everyone else uses when someone complains about the realism of this game.

Remember ground troops don't run around with parachutes on their back....
But i agree that there should be a slightly better balance of realism in the game, especially when it comes down to gun balistics.

TBH, using some logic, its probably not the best idea to throw C4 in the first place. I doubt it would stick if you threw it.Originally posted by Sniper_13in real life u should be able to throw it more. the are really weeak in BF2 cant even run a straight minutComment

probably posted already
or you can throw the c4 right before you press jump, and as you go up it launches even farther, i did that like 9-12ft away from an apc, landed right on top of it, ran behind a tree, boom c4 kill + flag defence
, bet he didnt see that happend
