BF2 SUCKS Compared to Desert Combat

What happened? I was under the impression that the guys from Desert Combat collaborated with EA to produce BF2. Is this correct?

It can't be, because Desert Combat had so much more stuff than BF2 has.

1. Bf2 has so many fewer types of vehicles.

Where's the scud?
Where's the MLRS?
Where's the minibird?
Where's just the average beat down car or tanker truck laying around?
Where's the ZSU?
The Vulcan?

2. Kits have fewer items.

No binoculars
Where's the damn Laser Designator we were promised?
Where's the shoulder launched anti-air?

3. Weapons are crap.

Anti-air missiles? Please.
.50 sniper rifle? No zoom and crap damage.
Light Machine Guns? Takes 400 rounds to kill someone.
Etc.

4. Bunny Hopping: Gay

5. Black Hawk can take up to 2 tank shots.

And the list goes on and on. Desert Combat was so superior to this game that it's difficult to imagine that the same people worked on both.

Nope. Check out Desert Conflict mod though. It'll pretty much be DC for BF2, I think.

Yea, Try to imagine Desert Combat on a BF2 engine.. Jesus that would be fun! That would be worth telling EA they finally did something right. BTW:: What happened to the Desert Combat coders now? Did EA fire them and send them packing? Are they making a Desert Combat version for BF2? Or are they paid well and went their own seperate ways?

They have less of everything. I am looking forwards to DC on BF2 engine. Should be a lot better.

the squads and commander mode isnt that big in pubs because most people dont know how to use it correctly.
The graphics are better tho :)

yeah commander isnt needed for DC and i agree i miss the regular cars and my minibird, but BF2 is way better then DC. i kill the BH with 2 tank shots, and i am glad when i am in it that i can maybe survive that first hit... the cover in BF2 is especialy better... so many places to hide compared to DC makes it a better FPS...

as for the DC guys, without looking anywhere online first i venture to say they got hired worked in the NY office then DICE shut down NY and gave em a choice, leave or move to Sweden. (its a whole other country) i would be interested to know if the DC guys made a pile of $$ first. hope they did, and hey they can always code DC for BF2 now, like back to the old days except with money

Yea you're right. But that's just dirty and obvious. Especially shutting down the guys who made the mod for BF1942. These guys made EA look like morons. I'd like to know what happened to them. Imagine if EA gave these guys full control of what the game should function like, vehicles ect. This game would own... AND DONT SAY IT DOES OWN NOW, because way too many people post problems with this game already.. BAh.. screw EA.
