i would recommend playing in an empty 64player Gulf Of Oman game spawn as US and just keep bombing the MEC jets for at least an hour. After a while you will get the hang of it.

Me to..Originally posted by SkorpionWeird I just use the Force lol but most of what these guys are saying is right.
There's no secret formula, just practice. Every bombing run is different depending on whether the target vehicle is stationary or moving, if you're going for precision bombing, or wide area bombing...
The only tips I can really give are;
Follow Odinpalen's advice.
Don't slow down- Bomb at full speed.
Bomb on f9 hud view and if you need verification, press f11 to see where they drop.
It's possible to drop single bombs or clusters by rapidly tapping the bomb button.
If there are friendlies in the area, or you are hitting a carrier deck, fly high, dive down, check out the target, climb on come around for your run. If there are a few enemies standing close, dont even use bombs, just come around, line up where they are standing, and strafe with your guns, using the rudder to sway side to side a little. You can kill everyone standing around a helo pad this way and save your bombs. Gives you more kills without needing to rearm.
Did this tonight on Oman and Wetlands... 68-0 (Su34) and 30-0 (Mig29)...
If attacking a base which has incoming friendlies, bomb across them and not toward.
To kill a single vehicle with friendlies nearby, fly high and dive down at a very steep angle, the bombs will drop close together, minimising friendly damage.
It's possible to toss bomb as in real life by pulling the stick back as you press the bomb release button. This is especially useful on maps like Oman when you're bombing beach bases. It gives you a wider spread and increases the chances you'll take out several personnel with one drop. It also works well if you are diving steeply but want to spread your bomb load. Dive down fast, press button and pull the stick back. It devastates a wide area around those fort bases.
Most importantly, use the force.

Going to chase view is just awkward. You don't need it to bomb effectively.
Step 1: Preparation - Switch to nose view. This gives you a first-person display, but removes the cockpit and gives you a more complete field of view, which is useful for spotting ground targets. Gain some altitude and look for those triangles/boxes on the ground below.
Step 2: Aiming - The only implement of the HUD I use is the long vertical line that goes from your crosshair to the bottom of the HUD. This serves as your supreme aiming point. Put it on the target and your bombs will hit, if you do the next step works out of course :).
Step 3: The Dive or Dip - This step differs depending on which type of aircraft you use; for fighter aircraft which have obviously smaller payloads, a steeper dive onto the target is preferred; this allows your payload to be centralized and thus do enough damage to take out most armor. As for larger fighter-bombers like the Eagle and SU-34, you'll want a shallow dip, not a dive. 5 bombs is more than enough to kill any target in the blast zone, so you don't want them too centralized, but you don't want them so spread out that they're inaccurate and thus ineffective. This is THE most important stage for a bomb run. Obviously, a straight-line strike is effective on bases, but if you find it necessary, you can curve your bomb line by banking during the release.
Step 4: The Aftermath - Once my bombs are released, I usually pull up immediately and switch my camera to the 3rd person front view so I can watch my bombs hit and see where they landed. I definitely suggest this procedure; once you learn how your movements effect how your bombs land by watching them detonate behind you, you definitely get a better picture in your head as you drop them as to where they should go.
I definitely suggest making a Local server and just practicing for 20 minutes once and a while. There are certain things that are a little more advanced, like how to lead moving targets and such, but once you get the feel, it's all downhill from there. The feel is what's important. There's no real concrete tactic that will automatically make you a good bomber. You just know where they'll land when you drop them, just like you know where a baseball will go when you throw it and such.
Last note, if you're not under attack while you're lifting off, try to wait for a co-pilot. Those bombs are VERY damaging, and if your strike doesn't kill off all the enemies, come back around, put the target a little under your crosshairs and then just glide by. This will five your co-pilot a perfect, straight view with which to fire his missiles. These things do SERIOUS damage, and can even take out choppers mid-air if your co-pilot can aim em right.Comment

To good dogfighters:
Although I consider myself to be a good dogfighter, I'm always curious to know about other pilots who are skilled in dogfighting. I want to know how do you end the classic BF dogfight of circling around and around? Usually I just break this pattern by pulling up, down, or go opposite directions hoping that i'll get the advantage.Comment
