I think it's gulf of oman, it looks a bit like it, but it just could be a mounted picture for advertising

Thats a map from before the game was released. Sort of like an early version of Mashtuur City.

New? That's a pre-production screenshot from who knows how long ago. I'd say its from an early version of Karkaand (opposite the train wreck, where the TOW is behind the MEC's head.

No, that was the old version of Murshtuur City, not Karkand. And no, that doesn't look more realistic. It's just their graphics are more better than yours.

If you've seen the original video for BF2 that released last year, you would know that was an early version of Mashtuur City.
