Question about gcard

I currently have an ati 9800 pro 128 and I am thinking about getting a 6800 GT 256 but is it work the 250 odd quid for one? I have had a look on the net for comparisons but theres only a few which compare the 2 cards. what i'd like to know is how much of an increase would I get? I dont need exact figures or diagrams an stuff just an overall opinion from people who have had both cards.

Another quick question, has anyone got the asus P4P800S-E deluxe mobo (one with 3 ram slots, wireless edition)? If so have you been able to add another 512 stick? I have a gig (2x512 Corsair value select) and I tried adding another but it would just hang at bootup. I have tried changing various settings in bios to see if it will work but nothing with remedy it. all 3 sticks are DDR400. I dont really wont to fork out 160-200 quid on 2x1gig sticks for this game so any help would be great.

id stick with the 9800 pro cause i have the same card and im runing great FPS with good seetings and i only have 512mb of ram. even though the 6800 gt is much better. if u wana spend and extra 250$ then go ahead. i would just roll back the drivers to 3.4 cause the new ones suck

Thanks for the replies. I can get the 7800gt but it's PCI-E (Unless they have a AGP version but I doubt it) and I only have an AGP MB I dont want to have to buy a PCI-E mobo just for the card. I think my main area is the ram. I cannot stand the stuttering but I cannot find my mobo manual to see what configurations I can have.

I'd also like to note that I used to play everything on high and run fine with 1 gig without stuttering, I made a friend an account (i'm a leftie hes a rightie so we use diff controls :/) and since then i've had to lower settings and still stutter from time to time. My comp isnt uber but its far from low end and expect atleast some high performance without having to stutter.
