    engineer points

alright another stupid question... i wanna get repair points -- does somebody have to ASK you to repair something (squad member - commander) in order for you to get the point -- the reason i ask i keep running around with the useless shotgun getting popped left and right trying to get 5 FRREAKING REPAIR POINTS! But it seems everytime i repair anything BH, M1A1, evewn commander assets I CANT GET THE FREAKING BASIC ENGINEER BADGE.
or it could be just me.
    what do you think

you have to repair 100% total vehicle/command stuff to get 1 point. so if you repair half of something you need to fix half of something else for the point

This is not it exactly but it is something like you have to repair 100% of one vehicle to get one point. Obviously to get that 1 point then you have to repair at least a couple of vehicles because no vehicle will have 100% damage.

If you just go around the whole game repairing vehicles often you might only repair 10% of a vehicles total health if it has not taken much damage so in that instance you would have to do the same again 10 times to get 1 point.

I think the engineer class is actually pretty tricky to get repair points on if you compare it to support or the medic class.

Here's the best tip I can think of. ONLY go Engineer/Repair when there isn't one in the team or you need to repair bridges or commander assets. Only choose Engineer when you die.
If you are engineer for full round, you are more than likely an EASY KILL.

I can't understand this. . . it was so easy for me to get that basic repair badge. . . there are always damaged vehicles. . . I could have sworn I got it in like 5 minutes just running around repairing things.

I am usually an engineer when I am the commander and with all of the C4ing of our arty/UAV/sat scan, I can get 5 repair points easy in a round. Try that.

The best part of this is that you can spot the spec ops with your sat scan and then keep spotting them in the commander screen so you know where they are. Just sneak up behind them and pump a couple of shotgun blasts into them.

Get an easy kill and a ton of repair points.

            Good luck.

Just sit in a blackhawk. Those things take on so much damage most time sitting in one of those you going to be repairing the whole time.

To be honest I played engineer virtually 100% of the time for the first few weeks and it still took me a while to get this badge. As has already been mentioned, it's only really easy to get if you're repairing a blackhawk which is flag hopping or if you're constantly repairing commander assets. Watch for the stats at the end of the round and you see that more often than not either nobody gets the "most repair points" ranking or the person that does gets it with about 3 points. Obviously there are exceptions.

The problem, which really needs to be fixed, is that it's almost impossible to repair a friendly vehicle to 100% in the field. Sure, you can repair your own tank/apc/etc. but, unless someone sits in it for you, you won't be getting any points for it. Other drivers are either engineers who will fix their own vehicles or, more often than not, will discard their vehicle when its health drops below 50%/drive it until it explodes without seeking repairs (mostly because asking for repairs usually results in no response).

Sure, it's possible to fix other vehicles when you're in one yourself but two vehicles close to each other are just inviting artillery/bombing, especially given the time it takes to repair a vehicle to full health. Repairing a vehicle on foot usually results in the said vehicle either driving off or, worse, accidentally running you over.

One trick is that I saw mentioned in another post is to fix weapon emplacements which friendlies are using. For some reason they often appear heavily damaged and are easy to repair. Be prepared for people to get angry at you, though.

And as for whoever claimed that the shotguns are useless: I suggest you stop trying to snipe with them.

Play on a 64 server with a low pop. Someone will be spec ops and blow your commander's equip up. Bringing each one back to life gives you one whole repair point. You'll get the badge in 10 minutes easy.

also, if you repair a vehicle, a teammate has to be inside it while you repair or you get nothing. repairing commander assets give you points. not sure about bridges, never tried to repair a bridge.

i think you should get points for repairing anything, whether a teammate is in it or not. you're doing your job of repairing, so why not?

Suppose to use Duct-tape, not the wrench. j/k :)

Their are times, I repair, and half way through the repair, I get a point, then their are times, I have to fully repair to get a point. I have encountered repairing fully, and I never recieved a point. Do not know why. I never get the point either later in game. But I watch the scale. I sorta do not like it when crates are used to repair the team assets, like Radar, artilliary..etc. I sure can use points. But in big, bad situations, I can understand why the crates are used. Everyone is to busy to repair em. But, when the next patch comes out. It is going to be so busy for engineers. You will need security guards to protect you and the assets.

or just hop into a vehicle and drive next to damaged vehicles with someone on them , it will repair them automatically , and most drivers will stop when they realize you´re repairing the tank/apc/jeep , it´s easier and you will be less vulnerable .

PS: a shotgun blast in the face will drop just about everybody , inclusively tank machinegunners , you just have to be close , it´s a great defensive weapon

all you have to is get in the back of a BH and repiar it as needed. You can easily get your ten repiar points in a very short period.

My problem is getting engineer assault, now thats going to be a challenge, i guess its easiet to do that again in a hel ibut as a gunner and hope you get lucky and get 10 kills. :)

getting into that bh is next to impossible with everyone wanting to get into it.
