Is it just me, or is the method of using text chat within a BF2 game a closely guarded secret?!

Seriously, I've looked in the manual, in the console commands and while there is a game.SayAll etc it doesn't work for me. I get invalid module or somethign like that.

Please would someone explain how this is done?

J for all. K for team chat. L for squad chat.

and l is squad...

could be that it doesn't work good, in my case when I want to type a chat message, and when typing I use the "H" key the map apears and I can't type anymore, so actualy I can type a chat message but can't use the "H" key in my messages.

Mailed it to EA, and they sai there is curently nothing I can do at this problem.
But my hopes are up it will be in patch 1.03

Did you try going to options and mapping the button for yourself?
