Alternative Unlocks

If you could redo the unlocks, what would you make them (not repick, replace the current unlocks with something that you think would be better)

Assault: XM8 (basic configuration)/XM320, it would have a scope attached on it already, BUt only have the damage of th M16, as well as the accuracy, and have full auto, the XM320 is the GL.

Medic: XM8: same as assault, without GL.

Sniper: PSG-1, the power of the MEC/PLA sniper and semi-auto as well as 10 rounds, but hte accuracy of the M24.

Engineer: Jackhammer, with the actual 10 rounds instead of the 7 ingame per mag, nuff said.

AT: G36C, same as it is now, just make the recoil and the accuracy a bit worse.

Support: PKM, it's good enough now, just fix the ironsights a little.

Spec Ops: SCAR-H, 7.62 NATO round assault rifle of the future for the special forces. It will only have like 20 rounds, but it will have a lot more recoil, but still remain it's basic first shot accuracy, power will be on par with the current G3.

the sniper should have the option to pick a pistol unlock : the dam DEAGLE !!

the AT guy should have an AA bazooka unlock

engineer : jackhamer with 10 rounds would be nice

assault : the same unlock as they have now, but with a nade launcher attached to it

spec ops : good unlock now, very very good weapon, used it in the period that half of the people had all the unlocks and this one rocks

medic : like the L85 , but it could do better in close combat, but the gameplay must still be balanced so it's actualy just fine

support : actualy the SAW should be the real unlock, but it should be the SAW with is a SAW , like in americas army, the one now in BF2 sounds like crap and should do some more damage

i must admit i regret unlocking the G3 its a ok weapon but i just never really use it. For my next unock im still torn really, i think it comes down to either the spec ops gun or the support gun. I prefer playing as support generally and probably get more kills than spec ops but spec ops if fun and i love bloweing up artillery etc which will be good for the next patch as your actually going to get points for doing it.

I wouldt replace the unlocks I would just make more of them, say, 1 gun every 15,000 points.??? Sound fair.

I would add in a M240/M60/G36(Gunner Version) in the support.

Not the Mk.43 mod.0 (aka M60) that thing is such a bad weapon in real life. THe M240B is so much better, it might replace that, or maybe the mk.48 mod.0 (Minimi (SAW) using 7.62 NATO rounds), how bout a MG 3 though, that thing will kill all soldiers in sight, it uses 7.62NATO rounds, and sipts 1200 of them out every second, that would whoop the PKM's ass, but for balance reasons, i think it's not gonna happen.

What would be cool it to be able to buy upgrades for your unlocked weapons.
Say for 4,000 points buy a better scope or bigger magazine or some other accessory.

I feel that most of the unlocks are fine. I would, however, like to see a new pistol in combination with each unlock. It would also be interesting to have the AT kit unlock an AA rocket.

I think they're saving stuff for expansions and BF3.

This whole unlock and global score and medals system was just a test IMO. We're seeing the beginnings of a more RPGish FPS more than anything else, where your score and time played earn you medals and badges and most of all weapons.

This is only the beginning, I think we can expect a lot more to come in the future. (and hopefully by then, they will have found a solution to the stats bottleneck issue)
