    Few questions

1: How do I get shadows to affect objects and stuff? when in game, trees and buildings don't cast any shadows and the interiors are as though they were in broad daylight.

I've tried fiddling with lighting and lightmaps but to no avail

2: How do I do undergrowth? When I go to "paint" it, it comes up with some error about not having something selected but I don't see anything to select.

3: How do I animate the water? in game it's all calm and still.

4: How do I make puddles above water level?

Only started learning to map a couple nights ago (As in, I've never mapped fora game, ever) but these little things are the only things that are stopping me from finishing my map :P

    1. compile -> lightmaps -> generate lightmaps (the better the setting the better it will be)
oh and before doing that, go to the direction you want you sun to shine to and go to light -> Set sun(flare) direction -> set sun direction from camera and light -> Set sun(flare) direction -> set sunflare direction from camera

    2. after selecting undergrowth right click on 'material' on the right and add a name for it, right click on the material you added and add a 'type' (the grass/flowers/bush etc.. its just a name at this point) then select that and change the mesh and texture (and whatever else) then you can paint it on
You can add more 'types' to paint multiple things at once or you can add a new 'material' to paint something completly different

    3. in the tweakerbar go to your_level and select water settings, then alter the waterscroll and wateranimspeed. Its probs best to take the water releated files from an existing map to get a good water effect.

    4. this i dont know, i think you might have to model your own water plane for this.

      thanks for the reply :)

I tried the generate lightmaps earlier but it didn't help. Could you tell me the best setting to get this to work?

Thanks, that helped a bit but objects and interiors still appear bright as though the sun never acted upon them.

EDIT: Upon further inspection, doing the lightmap thing produces a giant square of shadowrather than project realistically =/

Oh, and how do I rename a map? :P
