it may work it may not but when i wanted to delete me old demo account i went and signed on fileplanet and deleted that account from there

the only thing is though i've never used that email address again to see if it actually did delete the account from the stat server, sorry about that.

Why would you need to delete it? Just let it rot, and if you need a new email for a new account, use a hotmail or gmail, yahoo, etc.
