    the pkm

sorry if this has been asked over and over but what is the accuracy of the pkm compared to the basic support weapon?

accuracy is identical (better than SAW at sustained firing) on paper, and seems to be better in practice. almost AK like.

dont use the ironsight and you'll be a killing machine

(killing and machine may vary between users)

Doesn't using the ironsights increase accuracy though? Please explain.

Hmm, I almost always use the iron sight. Why not use it?

it may just be me but i find that by not using the iron sight and just letting the crosshair rest till they close up just seems to make the gun a hell of alot more stable for longer range shots than ironsights, it took me ages to get used to it but i have got alot more kills by doing so, plus you can see alot more around you than you would in ironsight mode

            anyone else noticed it?

can u just shoot like a mad man like u can with the basic support gun? I mean I normaly just spray and not do burst fire because odds are something will hit them and I usualy walk away as the alive one equal amount of times as I would do with any other gun.

if you lay down and fire with the pkm you can get about ten bullets off that are normally on target, carry on firing though without letting the crosshair settle and its just a spray and pray game, you can fire off about fifty four bullets in succesion before it overheats

the pkm is sometimes usefull against bh gunners, but thats very hit and miss, i unlocked the pk in the vain hope that it would help against helo's (i was wrong) but as an anti infantry weapon then i would suggest everyone should unlock one and practice with it

                i love it

man, this gun rocks! i unlocked it at corpral and the enemy just fall now without me even pulling the trigger! (ok maby 4-5 shot later...) but it is more accurate and stronger too.

The PKM sights are horrible. Mid-range shooting, I personally think the M249/RPK are both better. The only time I kill someone at a distance with the PKM is if they are injured or I get lucky.

I'm still new to the PKM however, so things might change with time. When going up against legit infantry (non-noob tube) I love this gun. :)

I like it. Prone and use ironsight.

I got 1500 kills with it.

Short medium ranges, don't use the sights. It makes it harder to track people and you'll just do better without it.Long ranges might as well use the sights, but I haven't figured out the best way to use it long range yet. The SAW is better at long ranges simply because its massive rate of fire counters the deviation very well and it has decent sights.

For CQB go prone and do not use the iron sights. At distance well yeah...use the iron sight and go prone.

I "borrowed" one once. It seemed more accurate to me, but then again, I've ran into someone at Karkand as support and sprayed wildly from 5 ft away... and still died :hmm:

P.S. It sounds cooler, too :p

What I love about the PKM is that it scares the hell out of people. Just last night I has up on a hill looking down on a CP my squad was defending. There were enemies hiding all around and I was just spraying them from above which caused them to panic and run from their cover to be gunned down by my squadmates.

On another occasion I was on a rooftop when a loaded BH came to capture our CP. I started unloading on it, took out a couple of guys, the pilot panicked(or maybe was killed, not sure) and crashed right into the side of a hill. Six kills and a defend...glorious.

Every gun has it's pros and cons, you just need to learn how to take advantage of the pros and not put yourself in situations where the cons will bite you in the ass.
