    City Tank Trap...working title

Allright.. This is a few shots of my map. When completed it will have more houses, undergrowth, all sorts of wrecks, garbage etc.

But I'd like to hear some suggestions on a few ideas I have from you:

1.: I'd like to twiddle a little with the objectspawners. I do not want to let the tanks respawn at the same time that's in BF2. I feel that the short spawntime reduces the tank from a major asset to a toy. I want the US forces to take care of their tanks by knowing that when it is gone it takes a while to respawn.

2.: MEC does not get any tanks. As in real life their main advantage in a urban setting is the city itself. Tight and messy. They get jeeps for mobility though.

3.: To avoid tankwhoring I'd like to set each to CP to be capurable by no less than 3 players. That should encourage people to play as a team.

4.: The middle of the map is a bottleneck. ( Behind the burning APC. ) The MEC forces can easily halt the US advance at this piont if they use the staionary ATweapons there. US can counter this by sending in arty and/or inf through the tight streets on both sides of the main road, which is the only road passable at this position for tanks. Is such a use of tactics to much to ask for of the average BF2 player? ( Up to this point the map is easily takeble for the US. )

5.: As you see in the screenshots their is a lot of smoke and fire. Does anybody know how much I can add before it eats away at peoples ram?
I'd really want to use as it is really atmospheric and a good way to block LOS. ( This is the smallest mapsize so LOS must be broken so this don't turn into a snipers party. )

6.: Any comments and ideas to this map and what should or should not be in this map is very welcome.

Well....... It turned out to be a long post.. Here's the pics.

If you could add some of the Karkand dust/fog I think it would be cool.

I like the fountain layout. And I see you have a crane, do you really need one? Every city map that is in the works seems to have one. Perhaps the city doesn't have any construction work being undertaken. :)

It's just an effort to go climb up there to clear out the snipers. Would be nice to not have to worry about extreme high points in the map, keep it focused more or less at ground level. :)

    Just some thoughts...

Awesome! Some pyro tendencies in your map (50% of everything is burning! LOL), but it looks like it will be a blast.

Just remember to put in some things that will slow those USMC tanks down, so MEC has a chance... AND DON'T PLACE SPAWN POINTS WHERE TANKS CAN CAMP! (( I hate that crap! ))

But hey... Looks good, looks fun... finish it up so we can play.

That looks good. I'd like to see an overhead view if you get the chance.

Buildings look like there in a good placement, not too many of them but placed so it looks like theres alot

Remember to keep placing many small details on the map, something to make it unique

*gets idea to place an easter egg in own map ^_^*

Right..... some overhead pics as well.

The main road with the roundabout is where the tank trap will be and yes, there will be concretebarriers, cars etc to force them into a zigzag driving.

The western part of the map is the least completed. I was thinking about filling in more of city / suburb / slum parts I've been working with, but any ideas for anything that might be cool is welcome
