BF2 Demo WILL NOT LOAD, HELP!

When I install the demo and double click on the Icon it goes to a black screen then crashes to the desktop..Any ideas?

My Specs:2.2 ghz celeron, 768 ram, 30 gig hard drive(56% of it free) and a new 9250 radeon with 256 mb of ram..

Do you think it could be a problem with the demo? HELP.

if you have ANY programs that alter the refresh rates of your moniter, disable them back to default, that's what i had to do

It's probably either your CPU or your video card.... both are relatively low when compared to the requirements of this game.

To my knowledge, Celerons will not work with BF2. Only Pentium on the Intel side.

Why did you make two threads? We already tried to help you with this buddy.

                      Again......

Your friend with a 128mb card actually has a better video card then you. Again, your video card has too much memory. With out a doubt. This might be the cause of the problem because this game is known to do lots of memory swaping with the ram. Check your drivers and describe the problem exactly.

The GPU of your video card is toooooo slow to handle 256mb of ram. I mean EXTREMELY SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because you have more memory does not mean you have a better video card. The amount of memory on your video card actually slows the GPU down.

Let me explain it in baby terms for you. Your video card is designed best to uitilize 64mb of ram. (Period) BIG FAT PERIOD!! Think of the GPU on your video card as the UPS man driving a truck. His job is to deliver boxes to every house hold in the city of dallas which would probably take him a day. Think of every box he delivers as the GPU setting up the texture on your screen. Now, pretend you bought more ram the size of the United States of america. Because the UPS man is driving a truck, it'll probably take him a few months to deliver textures to every house hold in the nation. But if the UPS man happend to be flying a 9600pro then it'll just take him a few weeks to set up all the textures. Get it? Got it? Good.

And again how did you get 768 mb of ram? This sounds completely awkward. The configuration should be 512, 1 gig, or 2 gigs. Anything out of this would result in you dropping from dual channel. Your PC sounds like it has a major lack of quality.

Now, clean and change your drives like I told you before kid. Try both 5.6 and 5.7 catalyst. Turn off all programs running in the background, that includes antispyware and antiviruses.

Reformat with only the demo and the latest drivers. If all fails. Buy a new pc.

                      Finally.....stick to one thread

Here is a list of the requirements on the demo. That particular video card is not listed. But it might not be the problem. Check your drivers and close all background programs.
