And the only reason you can say you have a positive ratio is because of you using vehicles as your crutch.

There is nothing wrong with a "jack of all trades" kit. Thats exactly why I play it.
-If a jeep whizzes past me, I can turn around and blow it up before it gets away.
-If an apc/tank attacks, I can kill it. And I know where to fire so theres no way in hell its gonna take more than 2 rockets.
-If theres a prone sniper firing at me off in the distance, I can take advantage of the fact that the rocket is accurate when moving, so I continually run around while the rocket heads towards him and kills him.
-If an attack chopper is trying to hover to capture a flag I'm currently at, I can scare it away by firing a rocket directly at it. And if possibly kill it if it remains visible for too long when running away.

And if a blackhawk comes circling around the flag, sure I may not be take it out in one shot, but I can do something other kits can't, and thats something. If a blackhawk comes circling around with it's miniguns, what can you do if you're a spec ops? Pitifully fire your gun at it? Same goes for engineer. And saying you can stick c4 on it is way too situational, and heavily depends on the stupidity of the BH pilot. A rocket may not kill a blackhawk, but it can take a good chunck of it's health off, and more importantly, kill passengers.

And I have the DAO-12 unlocked, which is easily one of the best cqc weapons in the game, especially when combined with the fact that the AT has heavy armor. It works fine for large maps if you move in close before attacking.

You can say that the other kit's can do what the Anti-Tank can, but fact is besides planes, there is no type of enemy that the Anti-Tank can't fight. If you're guarding a flag, no matter what tries to come in and cap it, the AT always has a way of fighting back. That's his advantage.
Yes, AT is effective against all enemies. But think of it this way, it can attack all enemies, but enemies may have better weapons to attack it. So say you were AT on Karkand defending the Hotel (first outpost that USMC rushes) somebody comes up the stairs and 203s you immediatly. You can't do anything about it, and attacking at long range, you might as well stand up and put your hands up, cause a sniper or spec ops will snipe you before you can even get a shot off with your AT missile launcher. So yes, if you need to take out any kind of enemy AT works, but to take them out you need to be at close range, or get the jump on them with a AT rocket, or aim at the weak spot of stronger vechicles.

I like AT. The problem is that the missiles take too long to reload and after a few hits, the vehicle is just about dead, the driver can get out, and find that AT guy and kill him with little trouble.

Spec Ops C4 gives a driver no warning that he is about to explode.

I love being any support with my PKM, and also US Assault. I love the M16/203 combo, run out of ammo just switch over. But I hate the AKs. I much prefer accuracy to damage with an assault rifle, spray and pray sin't my thing.

I've started playing anti-tank more and more now, pretty much on every non-infantry map. I've just unlocked the DAO-12, and am loving it even more now!

I just want to agree 100% with Tysn and Saldrin. They obviously have played anti-tank and know all about its ups and downs! I also consider scaring away a black hawk from a flag, or making someone bail from their tank/APC a success, even though I get no score for it.

I've got my best kill/death ratio with this kit, and often finish at top or near top of the table with it - even without the easy teamwork points of the medic, my other favoured class.

              - I love blowing away that jeep or DPV that thinks it's about to rack up another road-kill. The more passengers, the better.
              - I have taken down more snipers with the guided rockets than I have ever been sniped. Anti-tank is the real sniper!
              - I love knowing I've just saved the lives of half a dozen teammates when I blow away an attack chopper or spawn camping APC.
              - Taking down a black-hawk should take three rockets, without engineers. Rockets to the inside of the cabin will sort out those spanner weilding magicians! A single rocket to the windsheild of a chopper will kill the driver (and/or gunner in an attack chopper). A number of times I have killed the pilot of a black hawk hovering over a flag and racked up six kills when it crashes.
              - In my anti-tank career, I have only ever taken out two jets in the air (hitting them on takeoff is easy!), but I will remember them forever!
              .
              .
              .
And since this thread is about all the kits, not just anti tank, the things I love about playing medic: Being the hero!

              - When three or four assault guys run around a corner, all get mowed down, then you pick off the enemy and revive your fallen team mates... yeah, who's the man?
              - Creeping up behind snipers and killing them with the defibrilators. A lot of effort, but well worth the humiliation factor.
              - Sniping snipers with the L85, then healing yourself back up again to do it all over again. I just love killing wookies... er, snipers in general I think.
              - Reviving teammates who have died from stupid things - falling off buildings when their parachute doesn't open, friendly grenades etc. I know how frustrating things like this can be, and would like to think I've just made someones day with one simple revive.
              - Running around reviving like crazy when the game is going to come down to tickets. When its 15-15, you revive five people in the last 30 seconds, and then your team wins by one or two tickets... I know I did my part!

Excalibur69, the amount of time you played does not reflect how good you are. I have to agree with people who are supporting the AT class, it has its advantages over the rest of the class including Spec. Ops and can become very effective if used correctly. Each class has its advantages and disadvantages, and no class can make another class obsolete.

I adore the red dot scope so I play the Spec Ops often. I enjoy the assault class for the nade launcher.

I like playing AT but, my god, the MP5 sucks ass.

Getting rushed by an m203, true, theres not a whole lot you can do about that. But can any other kit? Obviously against another assault it would be "who fires first", and possibly an engineer with a pump-shotgun. But what you're stating here isn't a specific disadvantage to Anti-Tank, but rather the general combat advantage the assault kit has over everyone else.

While you may get this impression by the apparent slowness of the rockets, fact is anybody who has used the Anti-Tank extensively knows that the rockets are one of, if not the best long-range weapon in the game. In a situation where a sniper on a hill has seen me and I have seen him, there has never been a situation where I have not killed him, and I bet quite a few other Anti-Tank players can make this claim too, or at least state that they are rarely killed by snipers. Theres are times where it is close (he headshots me right as the rocket slams into him). Even though you may find that hard to believe, I'll explain why.

At long range, anyone using a gun who wants to fight at that range must stay still. That does not apply to the Anti-Tank. You can be running around, zig-zagging everywhere, and the rocket will still head to where you are aiming. During this time you are very hard to hit, obviously, and gives the rocket time to travel to the target. Then, right before the rocket hits, you immediatly stop and crouch/prone, and take the last split-second to fix your aim directly on the target, so that the rocket hits them dead on.

Secondly, one of the main reasons it's great at long range is that you do not have to take careful aim. Anyone using a gun must be sure that the target is in the center of their crosshair when they fire, especially in the case of the sniper. With the rocket, even the most half-assed shot can still be compensated for by aiming at the target afterwords.

Finally, if you have a good memory, you can kill the target from complete safety, because you can still guide the rocket through a wall. This means you can pop out from behind a wall, fire a poorly aimed, but fast rocket, take a look at where the enemy is, and proceed to aim at the target through the wall. No doubt that this is easier said than done, but with practice its pretty easy, and a lot easier than trying to snipe a target running around like crazy like the enemy would have to do. A lot of people imagine an AT attempting to fight long-range as a clumsy, slowly-firing and moving attack. But in reality, it works out to be a fast paced fluid series of actions that get easier the more you do them.

All of this may sound hard to believe, but in practice what I have said is more effective than it sounds. If more people took the time to try out Anti-Tank, they would know this too, rather than switching to it and firing at the most armored parts of a tank and thinking "wow this kit sucks", and letting that be their belief as long as they play.

i play pretty much all engy due to the fact that I spend most of my time in a tank (and sometimes a attack helo). as a result, it is absolutely critical that I can repair myself during the downtimes. that's the only good thing about the engy - the wrench. and as people have pointed out, even with the wrench you ain't getting many points out of it.

the shotgun is ok at close quarters (although the jackhammer upgrade is sort of a waste of an unlock imo), but not spectacular compared to other weapons even at that range. you have to use the pistol a lot while on foot. The only other thing the engy has is his mines. and as every single serious engy knows, nothing attracts moronic tk-punishing n00bs on your own team more then then a carefully placed mine. mines can be very powerful - if you can sneak up behind an enemy vehicle, they can do just as good a job as satchel charges if you can drop them in front of an enemy tank. think about it: a) they kill any vehicle with one hit. b) they're automated - no need to wait around carefully watching the mines to manually detonate like c4. c) you get 5 of them! again though, you have to contend with total morons punishing you, and in a pinch they're not as versatile as C4.

i play tanker almost all the time, so i can comment of the spec op/AT from the opposite end of the barrel. i fear them both, as they can each be deadly in their own way. personally i'm a little more afraid of c4, simply because you can be sitting there fine one moment, and then dead cause a spec op got you with a c4 out of nowhere. sort of a psycological factor. i never go in for flag captures with a tank no matter how much my teammates scream at me, simply because I *KNOW* some spec ops is waiting to get me. with AT you get at least some warning, then a hit, and then more warning to tell you to get out of there. and while they can hit you at a significant range, often you have enough time to duck behind something before the missile arrives.

On the other hand, i've killed lots of spec ops as they've tried to sneak up on me or while they're trying to get the c4 on me - you wouldn't believe how much it has helped me to just rock my tank back and forth while sitting around. i'm sure AT is a little better against air vehicles(btw i think until it is patched debating trying to kill blackhawks is pretty damn silly since they're pretty much invulnerable - i wish i could repair my tank while riding around in it!). although with the air vehicles, i think it really is the difference between a chopper hoving 5 ft and 15 ft off the ground. i really doubt anyone is getting reliable hits on moving air vehicles with the AT missile. i guess you could argue that the AT missile, while weaker against tanks, is more versatile overall.

                          *Puts on flame-suit*

Cause their the class for nublets who cant aim for diddly with regular iron-sights, plus C4 and the ability to sprint longer than any other class. Noob-Ops, that's basically it.

Then, next patch, EA is gonna make them the most played class(oh wait, they already are..) by giving them points for blowing up the commander junk, while the spec-ops should be just doing it so their team can win, rather than worrying about getting points..

That's my point of view, and id gladly like to see someone change it.

                          :p

I play mostly engineer, but I play every other class the same amount roughly in hours. I (i dont want to get flamed for this) but I think the most useless class is the assualt. I mean sure you get kills, but in most servers an assualt is not the kill leader. Also it cannot get any team points because it has no abilities. Another thing is other classes are just as effective as killin.

All other classes havea place in my heart.

ive played medic ever since the day the game came out, and I really do like it when I revive someone and he wakes up and pwns some people. however, for my second unlock this past saturday, I unlocked the g36c, and now I find my self playing it more becuase the gun is so damn nice.

I just wish that you could mix and match guns to a certain extent. now i Know this would have to be regulated, I mean you dont want a medic runnin around with a sniper or a 249, but, I think it'd be okay to let the medic have his choice of the medic unlock or normal gun, at normal gun, or spec ops normal or unlock gun.

                              what do you guys think?

I think this has to be the most useless waste of a class i have ever seen. His rocket launcher takes 4 hits to take out a tank, while spec ops can do it much easier.
I'm most effective with this class for some reason..and no it does not take 4 hits to destroy a tank. It's all about where you hit it
