Can't do SP or Local Game w/o Crash to Desktop. Please help.

Everytime I try to start an SP game or a Local game, my BF2 crashes right to the desktop with no explanation. Any thoughts?

Everything I have but the kitchen sink:
Intel P4 3.4 GHz Processor
2 GB Corsair RAM
WD 74GB 10,000 RPM SATA HD
Maxtor 120GB 7200 RPM HD
nVidia GeFORCE 6800 GT 256mb Video Card
Audigy 2 Sound Card

Any and all help would be appreciated.

No cure has been found yet, its a game, punkbuster, nvidia/ATI problem. Have tried everything, sometimes you can play a game online a while, then it crashes and you can't play at all. Go figure. I will say this! IT IS NOT YOUR COMPUTER!

I have written emails to EA tech support and Punk Buster, EA Tech gave up, waiting to hear back from punkbuster. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, fooled with latency, drivers you name it.
Hope the 1.03 patch helps. If not we are F****D!
