PROBLEM! Please Help!

I've has so many damn problems with this game and as soon as i get it working I look on ranked servers list and there was like 2. So i thought let me get the patch but IT DOSEN'T WORK i've tried EVERYTHING uninstalling, downloading from a different source you name it. It says "PATCHING FAILED" so i had a look on the patchlog and it says:

Updating ...
error ept0009: Invalid Patch File 'C:\DOCUME~1\Mum\LOCALS~1\Temp\{F5D8171C-D208-4DF4-82A2-6872687F657A}\{F317E784-F31C-4F26-A610-2D7BD89FEC5F}\patch.rtp'

What do I do to solve it? please help because i really want to get these problems behind me and enjoy this game.

Uninstall the game, reboot and remove any and all folders relating to Battlefield 2 inclusing those in the EA GAMES folder and the My Documents folder, reboot and install the game, reboot and install the 1.02 patch.
