If i got another GB of memory for my pc would the performance really be that much better. I have 512 right now, but im thinkin about another 512 or gig maybe.
Does 1GB really make a difference?

What type of PC do you have? My little brother has an ATI 9700 with 512 mb of ram and runs the game just fine. Only thing is that it takes his computer twice as long to load the content, which is pretty long.
According to what i've been reading if you plan to have all settings on high then I believe 2 gigs is recommended but 1 gig would be decent.
It just depends on what settings you plan to use. -

Going from 512 to 2GB, I will tell you the absolute honest truth, I used to load a map in 3-5 minutes, it now takes me 30 seconds TOPS. About a minute when I change video settings and it has to load shaders. I am ALWAYS first in a server, or tied with 1 or 2 people. It's amazing, I get in a server and get right into my cobra and go cap bases before anyone else has even spawned.Comment

Im just tryin to play this game at medium settings with smooth gameplay, i can play it at medium settings right now but it chugs a bit too much in battles. I have a 6600 GT, 2.8 Ghz pentium 4 and 512 currently. Do u think i will be able to run the game smooth if i upgrade to 1 gig on high settings?Comment

Would it make a difference to my system as I only have a laptop that isn't exactly designed for gaming and has an AMD Sempron 3000+ Ati mobility Radeon pci-e x700 128mb video card and 512ram.
Was thinking of buying one of these and as I have 2 banks of 256 at the mo i would get a gig and and 256 and then maybe buy another to replace the 256 somewhere down the line.
Also are there any better video cards out there for laptops or can anyone point me in the right direction as I know it isn't as easy as changing a pc card or even if it's possible.
Thanks in advance, MattComment

BF2Nut23, you don't need a faster card, my GF6600GT runs most settings on high with anti aliasing x2 and the game's totally smooth. Buying a faster card and only having 512mb ram doesn't make sense, the card will be strangled. Buy more ram. Preferably another 1gb. You still may not be able to run everything on high (especially textures), but 1gb+ makes a hell of a difference to game loading times, graphics quality settings, and frame rates.Comment

I run 2 gb of DDR-2 4300mhz Ram with striped Raided Western Digital Raptor hard drives. Prior to upgrading my Video Card I could run everything medium. Since upgrading to a 7800GTX a week ago I can run everything on Ultra High. The Ram with this game is by far #1. Superfast hard drive setups are a convenience which is under rated. For this game, I would place Ram above anything else.Comment
