    Those who use PKM

Will this gun take a helo down? or make it smoke? or do any kinda damage? if so, how many clips needed 1? 2? all?

Not sure how much damage it does, but I have taken fresh heli's and made them smoke, and I have taken smoking heli's and blown them up. But I have not done a complete fresh to kill on a heli yet. It is debatable how much damage it does, but as I have said before, every bullet into a chopper is a good one. :)

Probably not worth it, as soon as the pilot realises he is being shot at it will take him 5-10 seconds max to find you and line your lungs with lead from the cannon.
I would guess at least 30 seconds to take it down completely, by which time you'd be respawning.

The fun part about the PKM is not downing choppers, it's making it rain bodies from the crew cabin.

600rounds, all hitting, will set a transport on fire. 400, all hittings, will set an attack chopper on fire. if there is a weak spot it aint the engines, the cockpit or the main body.

tried, tested, proven. anybody else says different, they are wrong or lying.

100 PKM rounds make a vodnik smoke. 600? no toolbag.

              Vodniks aren't helos.

The PK is good for what I use it for, making people run and sending helos on their way. You just have to reposition whenever it gets quiet or you overheat, etc

A full clip will take 2-3 bars off a blackhawk/transport chopper, which is very little. It's extremely effective at spooking pilots however.. :)

55 pkm rounds will blow up a jeep. whats your point?
neither jeeps nor vodniks are choppers. a good rule of thumb is that if it doesnt have rotor blades, it isnt a helicopter.

I tend to agree that firing PKM at chopper in most of the cases will make pilot to run away from flag. It is funny how many times I was able to 'scare' chopper pilot :) And if you have help from at least one more guy (AT or mounted machine gun), most of chopper pilots will choose to leave area.

Off topic, but strategy related, I find 70-80% of the time, spooking choppers hovering near flag caps is enough to get them to scram. My tactic of choice is lobbing a nade from my nade launcher at it. Doesn't do much damage, but usually the pilot pulls right back on the stick.

about 500 bullets to take out a helicopter. less, for attack choppers.

when a BH tries to capture a flag, all it takes is two clips to make it fly away. just aim for the rear (cabin?) because that's where the engys are at. buggys, it takes about 40 bullets. jeeps/any other vehicles, about a full clip. tanks, about 3-4. less if you can lob a grenade or two and then start firing. just go prone, lob all your grenades if you can and shoot at the vehicle and trust me, they'll either retreat or blow up.

infantries, forget it. there's a reason this gun is called People Killing Machine!

also, for practice, load up a practice round and go to kubra dam. in the usmc's uncappable base, where the blackhawk is at, that's the best way to determine where your bullets will hit. the hut near the helipad, shoot at the wall to see where your bullets will hit if you're standing, crouching or prone. also, there's a ton of different vehicles in that area so shoot them (BH, tanks, buggys, etc.)! see how many bullets it'll take.
