    [PLANNED RELEASE] Mosul City

    Release set for Sat(8/20) [v.0.1.1].
If I stay on target, Mosul City will be ready to download on next Sat for beta testing (hopefully we can cram this one onto the da server also).
It will support 16,32, and 64 players.

I've put in 34hrs on it so far... I think everyone will like it.

[[ screens later this week! ]]

It's a mix of strike at Karkand, but you also have some wide open space to mess around with. Good stuff. Lots of detail in this map... not just a cluster of buildings.

Still trying to figure out if I'm going to include Helos into it, only because I hate the Blackhawk whoring that goes on... we'll see the overall outcome with the 1.03 patch (fixing helos in flight?).

OH! MY NOOB FRIEND GOT A DIFIBULATER KILL!!!!! AWESOME!

He ran upto an enemy, and defib'ed him... got a kill... didn't even know that was possible! - thank you noob, worfinator98 for bringing this to my attention!

          GOOD TIMES!

          Screens on Weds.

Just out of interest, did you manage to have one map that has those different object/boundry settings for different players, or just three copies of the map with the correct setup for 16, 32 or 64 players?

Because the maps that come with the game seem to contain all three sets of level information in one map, but the only way I can see to do it is to make three seperate maps..?

Ah you are missing the wonderful world of layers. With layers you can put all the buildings on the main layer and then have 3 different layers for the tactical stuff (like spawn points / vehicles etc). A new combat zone cxan also be drawn on each layer.

Search some forums or google for layers in the editor and it should help.

Actually... if you have worked with the "Layers" from textures, it should be pretty simple for you to understand.

In your level editor, on the right hand toolbar, you will see "LAYERS"... just play around with it, and you'll see how simple it is.

                    Good luck.

Yeah... I got the arial photos of Mosul City... but decided to do a non-accurate protrayal of the city, due to the complexities seen by the satellite photo.

When's yours gonna be ready to go Front? Maybe we can package them together! lol.

I'm still playing with test maps in the editor to learn a few things before I go all out on my idea...I'm used to UnrealEd so there's a bit of a learning curve...and seeing as I'm a perfectionist, I'll guesstimate it will likely be a month or so before I'm ready to test...making terrain I'm happy with is my biggest obstacle!!
