Pb kicking for a temp openal.dll fix ??

It is allowed and works fine for me. Maybe you renamed the wrong file?

nope , had the file for 1 month now , and it was named right :)

Have you tried updating using PBWEB.exe from the main PB site? That's really odd that it would not work now. From what I recall PB simply excludes that file from the check sum scan.
