    Missing Terrain Textures In Game

For a couple of days I have been having trouble with missing textures in game. They do not dissapear in the editor. When I make a new map in the editor and only place flags and spawn points, save all and try to load the map into BF2 it happens.

I have worked on getting rid of this for two days with no success so I am asking for help. Here is a pic to show what I mean.

Go to your level editor, scroll down on the right side and click show low level texture, when that box pops up select the thing that is in there and click ok.

I assume what your talking about is not in the "level editor" but in the "terrain editor". On the right side under the texture roll out there is a "Low Detail Texture" area where you click on "Set detail texture" which opens a box. In the box you select "defaultlowdetail.dds" and click ok. This action copies "lowdetailtexture.dds" to your maps main dir.

This I have done and yet the map still loads like in the pic above. Any other ideas?

My guess is the map you are making is very Large? I am right now making a very large map (will not disclose any information on what it is to the public yet) and I am receiving the same error. I am looking into the problem and once I have it I will inform you what it is.

Try compiling the lowest lightmap that you can.

            I found the problem.

YOU mayst not use the scale of 4 when entering the map. TAW_DaSniper my guess is you are using scale of 4. I used 512 x 4 when I started my map.

That is bad mojo it appears. I bet everyone that tries scale of 4 gets this happening.

I hate to try 1024 x 2 with 1 mg of ram but I guess Ill have too.

            Thanks.

              :P my map was 1024 x 4
Thanks for informing me. Oh and Glitch. Compiling all that is one of my main RULES about making Maps!
So I double triple and quadrupletly checked that. Its the 4x thing. So I guess my map will have to be smaller damn. That means less space...

Hey TAW_DaSniper I got an idea. Dont delete it yet. You know when you make a map there is at the bottom a low res size? Perhaps if you set that low res size to 4 also.....Im trying to verify this now.

Nope. Scale of 4 is bad. Anyone figure out how to use it, let us know please.

Sounds like you got your light maps to work, everytime I compile mine it fails. Can you tell me how you do it, I havn't looked farther then just compiling lightmaps.
