Server admins/Clan servers

Greetings

Anyone had problems with server admins and clan servers such as....

You have the top score and they kick you because you do?

You kill and continually kill a lot of thier clan members and they kick you?

You have a higher rank than all the clan members so they kick you?

Your the commander and an admin/clan member wants the command so they kick you?

Somehow the admin is able to blow up the tank you just got into because he wanted it causing you a suicide? , and I mean it just blew up for no reason.

Unable to make a squad because the admin has it set so.

And various other setting via admin tools just to suit thier needs?

Basically getting grief from clans and admins for no reason other than u own them and outrank them.

Not that I care mind I just move to another server but this shouldnt be allowed on public ranked servers.

Common misperception. Ranked server only refers to the game settings required for points to accumulate and count. Such things as Ticket Ratios, Min # of players, Spawn timers, Friendly Fire, and so on. Game settings. It has nothing whatsoever to do with how the server is administered.

while its bad form and rude, they are paying for the server and can do what they want. however, if they do this a lot and continue to do it, people won't come to their server when word gets around that they do this stuff.

Been kicked 2 sec from the end for having top score

Been kicked for beating a clan member to the jet

Been kicked for c4'ing a jeep full of clan members

Clans dont like being owned.......especially on their own server.

Saying that some clans do see it's just a game, give you a complament....then the whole clans hunts you down for the rest of the game

Yes on almost all counts. I've argued this problem in several threads and people get really hostile when they think they are not going to be able to run a ranked server however they choose.

I would like EA to step in here and put some conditions in place that will make admins promote fair competitive play on ranked servers.

I suggested flags or points that admins earn each time they kick someone with all scores at or above zero. An admin practicing prudent kicking should be kick folks at the bottom of the score board with negatives or all zero's and if he doesn't and earns enough flags in one round that server will have stats for that round rejected by EA. And hopefully if this happens enough EA will consider removing them from the server list.

I really hoped the stat tracking system would be better than it is now. Atm the only reason I play on ranked servers is to progress towards additional weapons. Besides that stats are pretty meaningless outside the round you are in.

We've got 7 admins, me included, for our Players Group Server.

We've never kicked for any of those reasons.

The only thing that, on occasion, we do is to set up custom squads by invite only so that we can play in a squad with our fellow clan members.

The only players we kick are ones that break the rules. Racist remarks, TK'ing, generally being an idiot.

This is an idiotic idea. So what about those people who purposefully TK someone that is about to hop in "their plane"? Kicking that person, just because their score is higher then 0, should stop everyone else's stats from being recorded?

Yes, some clan servers have severe issues. Don't like it? Leave. It's not really all that hard. Am I saying I agree with those things mentioned in the OP? Not at all. I just think people complain too much about crap like this. If you feel it really warrants it, leave the server and come here to post a complaint about it. Maybe others will agree that they had similar experiences on that server, and people will remember not to join it. Other then that, just disconnect and find a different server.

Only a few have admin status on our servers as we are fully aware some can go a bit crazy when they have that much power, what we do say is anyone is eligable for a kick say to make room, we have to make it random if no one is breaking our ping or - points rules because its unfair to kick someone on 0 score as they may of only just joined whilst at the same time someone on the score of 120 points would of been in for hours thus have had their fair share of time on our servers. If for any reason players do get kicked or banned from our servers they can just join our public TS and enquire as to why or of course post up on our forums. I do think that some clans can do a bit more by being responsible in who they trust their admin to as it is often that the kick button is used too frequently and to be kicked because of a high score or pi$$ing someone off just because you managed to kill them and f*** up their KDR is a bit sad but like the above say if they keep doing that then their servers will dwindle down and continue to do so until its empty.

While I acknowledge that some server owners/admins have kicked without valid reasons, but is it possible that some of the players that got kicked who has high scores also TK'd for planes and BH? Is it possible that they also grief others when they didn't get their plane and be pilot for BH?

I don't know about other servers, but I have a web url listed in the message box when connecting to the server. If anyone bothers to visit it, they will see the guidelines which are used for administering my server. There is also a message board if people have problems, complaints, map requests, or other issues. To date, no one has ever posted outside my current group of friends. I try to be fair and objective and give people a chance. I want people to use my server and have fun.

I will kick people for point exploiting, excessive swearing (will ask or warn them before kicking, if it persists, then will kick), excessive and intentional team killing, or for just being an outright donkey :p. Racist or outright vulgar chat could result in an immediate ban with no warning depending on the severity. I will never kick someone for scoring better than me (I am average at best) or otherwise "pwning" me or anyone else.
