question to experienced assault players: is G3 really better than AK101 ? ..I still can't decide what to unlock next, PKM or G3.....

thats what im talking about... in close combat you need continuos fire spray... hence why the assualt weapon on the MEC is more reliable than the US version.

The M16 single shot is good but so is the carbine... if the us assault had continuos fire it would be my favourite weapon... but carbine is at the mo.

I don't think you do need continus fire in close combat. One 3 round burst on target to the upper body and they are dead most times. If you have a continus fire gun most will just waist a lot of the shots going full auto so I think having to make your 3 shot burst count actually forces you to play better. That was the point I was trying to make :)

i consider myself an experenced assault. it really depends on if u play assault or support more. i find myself wishing id unlocked the pkm instead of the medic gun, as the pkm does the same damage of the g3 but with unlimited ammo.

g3 vs. ak 101

statistically, the damage of the g3 isnt really greater than the 101 by any significant regard. however, i have yet to take down a guy with 2 shots from an ak to the chest like i can with a g3. anyone whos not armored seems to go down in 2-3 shots with a g3, but i seem to take more to kill with a ak-101. i always use the g3 on single shot, unless its close combat, and even then dont unload the magazine just use 5 or so rounds. the PKM is deadly at close/medium/medium long range. it really depends on your style and whether or not u can deal with not having a grenade launcher. :)

i think the G3 has one advantage the is the amount of damage it does , 2 -3 rounds ussualy suffice for a kill.
and in single shot aimed fire , it´s easy to do headshots
and besides , how many times have you killed someone with the AK101 in auto , just to be killed by the guy next to him when you stopped for reloading ?

Besides , one thing to consider in Support is the limited stamina you have .

I like both assault weapons, but also the MEC one a bit more, not only do I feel it kills bether (slightly) but I love the sound more, sounds cooler then the M16

I also prefer it to the M16 , It´s a personal think , but i think it´s deadlier at close range

g3 + nade launcher = uberweapon. good thing its not in the game. i think its too powerfull.

I think it would be fair, because you only get 20 rounds. Also, the existing Assault rifles are almost as accurate and powerful. G3 with noob tube would be great.

m16a2 just feels weak ... weak sound effect combined with the model just feels flimsy ... although a superior in game weapon than the ak101 at range I still prefer the ak101 just feels more solid weapon with a beefy sound effect ... confidence inspiring :)

It was the same for me but I have found I have got better from using the M16 a lot.

I will have one final stab at getting across what I mean. Full auto gun up close is better because it is simpler. You just hold down the fire button and spray. The M16 on the other hand is more difficult because you have to aim more and make your shots count. The very fact the M16 is more difficult though will aid you in increasing your skills. Once your aiming skills for up close combat have got better then you can beat the full auto spray guys and the weapon ends up better because you conserve your ammo far better.

If you like I am saying the M16 is better because it is harder to master but once mastered does give you a genunie advantage due to not waisting entire magazines on players when you get into a close up fight.

I like the MEC ak101 a lot more. basicly whne it comes to firing aa long range they are equal IMO. You just use single shot.
But In medium range the burst is not accurate enough,and not powefull enough, and at close range it's not powerfull enough. So it's the worst option in those situations.

The AK101 on the other hand may not be that accurat at medium range, but you have the power, and at close range you also have a lot more power. Plus I'm a cs player so I have learned to controll burst myself. That way the closer someone is to you the longer you hold teh fire button. And thats the big advantage of the Ak101.
The M16 doesn't give me enough control over teh amount of power I want to unleash, the Ak 101 does.

The game sound is similar to what a real M16 sounds like. It sounds like a pop gun.
Not having full auto on the M16 isn't a big loss anyways since the M16 full auto is like an Uzi. It's really meant to be used in either single shot or short bursts, and at range. The M16 is too long and underpowered to be effective in CQC.

The 101 is easily my weapon of choice as assault. If I'm not MEC, I'll pick them up off dead assaults. The G3 is ok, but I like having the grenade launcher as well.
