  • Startup Problem

    When i clik on the startup to start Battlefield 2 the screen goes black as if it is loading then it flickers as if it is changing a setting then just goes back to the desktop with no error message or anything at all...

    I am miffed at the moment, Battlefield: Vietnam worked for me so i don't know why this one isn't

    My Specs:
    AMD Athlon XP 2000+
    1.66 GHZ
    256 MB of RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440 with AGP8X

      Even if the game supported the GF4 series, you'd probably spend ten minutes verifying & loading with only 256 ram. Sorry man, but you must meet the minimum requirements.

          Depending on your budget, look around for a 6600 (GT, Ultra, Uber Mega...) and higher I suppose.

              "
              SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

              * Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
              * 1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater
              * 512 MB of RAM or more
              * 8x or faster CD/DVD drive
              * 2.3 GB free hard drive space or more
              * DirectX 9.0c compatible (see video)
              * DirectX 9.0c compatible"

              They are the system requirements, meaning you should have that if you want the game to run as smoothly as possible at the highest settings also i have no idea what type of RAM goes into my computer, the 256MB of ram is pretty old and i don't think the company make it anymore...

              Battlefield: Vietnam ran smoothly but i do realise Battlefield 2 is a totally new game and i want to get some more RAM anyway i just have no idea on how much goes in...

                  I didn't actually buy it my friend did today and brought it round...

                  Theres also the fact that i don't remember by Computer Specs 24/7, i don't walk into a store pick up a game and start looking at the specs as i doubt i will remember what specs my computer has and some specs aren't always right

                  Final Fantasy XI Need a CPU a lot better then mine and it ran brilliantly..

                  Also in stores they are like "WHAT R U TEH DOIN BUY IT OR GET THE F*** OUT."

                      The type of RAM you need is decided by the type of motherboard you have.
                      I'm sure you can still pick up some more RAM...

                      Can you tell us the make and model ?

                        If you want to know excactly what it is then run BF2 from the command line:-

                        start - run - cmd

                        cd to the directory

                        run bf2.exe

                        when it fails to run it should giver you a reason why in cmd

                              Do you know whether it's an AGP or PCI? (Slot)
                              Try and download Belarc Advisor...tells you everything you have.
