And he's trash-talking mods that are about 5% complete... Whatever. Obviously upset with life in general, or something.

well if you wanted to save work you could just use the provided player models for both the American and Iraq armies (change flags on the GLA, er MEC player modelsOriginally posted by Animalmothermaps in the desert, player controlled artillery, iraqi army, iraqi vehicles, shall I go on
), the americans still use alot of the same vehicles/technology as they did in DC. so alot of art is already completed.
player controlled artillery would be alot better than the commander artillery IMO. yeah, i could rant on about the stupid commander artillery for a while as i'm sure alot of other people could.
anyway i'd rather see effort put towards more of an origional setting/theme than a Gulf War (or WW2) style mod, but i guess that's just personal preference...Comment

Maybe if the work they showed was 5% complete, that woud be valid. But if you show crappy modeling, skinning, what have you, you cant really complain.Originally posted by NikkoAnd he's trash-talking mods that are about 5% complete... Whatever. Obviously upset with life in general, or something.
To note, however, I do really like US intervention, its stuff looks great.Comment

Wrong, per their websitewrong, half of the DC team are making DC (Desert Conflict).
Source: http://dc.totalbf2.com/about.htmlDesert Conflict is being developed by Desert Combat beta testers and supporters. Trauma Studios or original Desert Combat developers are not included in the developement of Desert Conflict.Comment

Re: Dc2
lol, the Iraqi Conflicts are overrated :P
IF there was a DC2, with any slight realism to it, whoever is on the Allied/Coalition team would never lose :P
Those Insurgents with there rather ancient weapons, who have no problems dying, Tank vs Tank battles would be pointless as no Iraqi tanks can even destroy a M1A1HA/HC tank from the frontal arc :P
1960's tech vs 1990's huge difference in power there :P
Hopefully if someone does make DC2, it would be alot more focused on gameplay, and fun, and less on realism.Comment

Re: Dc2
Munchies is an idiot. I've been looking at EVERY Desert Conflict model released with a very critical eye......and they are great. The Apache's are by far my favorite, just breathtaking. No offense intended to other mods, but from what i've seen, i personally think the DCon models are a cut above.
I've been playing bf1942 since its first week out, and once desert combat came out (around version .4 i believe it was) i have never played vanilla BF1942 again. I have tried other mods, but Desert Combat was simply the best, and by no small margin either.
When I go to LAN games, no one wants to play BF1942, they want to play Desert Combat. It's like BF1942 isn't completely installed until i install 1.61, 1.61b, Desert Combat .7 Full, and finally Desert Combat Final...........ONLY THEN is a full game worth playing completely installed.
If Desert Conflict is 50% as good as Desert Combat, i'll never play Battlefield 2 again. I must say, it's really looking good so far from what i've seen.
Now to give credit where it's due...... I am extremely biased towards the DCon mod due to my preference for its predecessor. The other mods i've been seeing (red crucible, rising conflicts [being created by the Desert Combat Extended team] and they are simply breathtaking. I almost wish all the 1992 - 2010 timeline mods would simply join forces and put their skills towards one SUPERMOD based on that timeline. We have a very talented community to say the least......Comment
