I hope it fixes the Punkbuster crashes (blue screen of BF death)

Doesn't really sound like Punkbuster. Common causes of blue-screen of death:

1. Overheating
2. Bad RAM
3. Hard-drive corruption

To test overheating, open your case and aim a room-fan (like the typical rotating ones) straight into your case. It's not a solution, just a test to see if that helps, in which case it's overheating that's your problem. For bad RAM, download Memtest-86 and run it (you'll need a floppy). It's a long full test, but if you're clear after an hour your RAM is probably OK. For your hard-drive, do a normal scan using Windows (do the one that requires a reboot).
