    BF2 Alert from EA

    Alert from EA's BF2 site

    which says
    "Battlefield 2 Alert

Please be advised that the stats processing server is currently offline and that we are looking into the issue and anticipate having it resolved by 2PM PT today.

Stats earned on WinOS servers will update correctly after the stats processing server comes back online. We are hearing reports that Linux servers are having additional problems and may be crashing after round end. We are looking into this issue.

damn they really didnt plan ahead of all this before they set this whole stat tracker thing up -- how many people are registered now over 760,000?

I'd rather they work on 1.3.

Frankly I hope they reset the stats when 1.3 comes out and let everyone keep the weapons they've earned so far.

I'd also like them to determine the leaderboards by a ratio of recent performance and not total play time.

Except for the Ladder reset, I believe that the way people are ranked should actually be based on their ratio of thier performance and their own average than how long each player played. Basically to go up the ladder in BF2, you just need to play more no matter how good or bad you are. As long as you score points, you'll go up the ladder.

One good example of how the Ranking system should work is BFtracks. They use the player's average, ratios, and other statistics to determine if the player is better or worse than before.
