Now this just burns me! Last night I was playing BF2 and the map was Gulf Of Oman(64). Im on USMC and we are getting owned badly, only spawn point we had was the Essex. I would spawn and both aircraft were gone and the attack heli was gone, but we had both blackhawks. So I hope in one and start with the get in's. There were 9 guys just standing on the carrier, none got in, some said negative. So I took off alone and tried to cap a flag and got killed. Spawned back on the essex, the same thing. 2 hawks, no planes or attack chopper, over 10 guys standing around now. I hop in a hawk and start screaming for people to get in... They just stand there, finally a plane spawns and they go crazy for it, and I realize these stupid noobs are waiting for planes and attack choppers while we are getting owned. Now that just pissed me off, its a good thing thats wasnt my server or I would have banned every single one of them. WHY?? Go play SP if you want to fly a plane.. Srry.. Had to vent a little.

I am one of those people that would rather take a FAV over an APC, and a J-8 over a jet or attack chopper.
One of the reasons why there needs to be some maps with no overpowering vehicles.Comment

Well, air power is totally broken in the game. If I weren't under the impression that air units/anti-air units were going to get a major change soon, I'd put more effort into learning them, too, since 18/2 k/d ratios are fairly common in air.Comment

Flying any sort of chopper on Gulf of Oman is suicidal I would radther take a boat then a chopper. People who say Blackhawk to powerful are completely wrong the blackhawk is only powerful really on one map and on every other map it's just transport.Comment

BF:V was just the same. You have to remember that many players don't care at all about how the team does they just want to grab their fav toy and get a good personal score. In general this catagory of player is always an air whore of some description.
The solution that Dice seem afraid to implement is make aircraft much more vulnrable. Dice failed to do this in BF:V and the choppers in particular were stupidly over powered right up until the end of that game. With choppers in particular if they made their armor semi realistic they would have a great deal to fear just from an infantry guy with an assault rifle so I guess Dice think going down this route will cause too many complaints. This is unfortunate because while air power remains over powered it will always attract the types of players that this thread is complaining about.Comment

If they wernt waiting for planes they would just be wasting their time elsewhere in the map. Im sure that only around 30% of each team at one time is actually playing the game properly, the rest are just mucking about.Comment
