I think EA didn't put blood so the ESRB rating would be lower. Blood could translate into gore, which would automatically up the rating to Mature 17+, at which point (depending on the local store owners) lots of the kids playing BF2 would neeed their parents around when buying it.

EA just didnt enable it, its there. EA seem to have forgoten to have a blood check-box in the options. Theres a mod aviliable to enable it, look for it. I dont know if it goes through pb though.

i think its fairly odd that a game depicting all out war is considered ok for children as long as they don't see the true ramafacations of shooting people etc.

Pretty screwed up set of priorities IMO.

Its a bit like all the hoohar with GTA SA with the sex scene even if you ignore the fact it was a modder who unlocked it its pretty screwed up that killing the police and drug dealing etc are considered ok for kids but not a little sex.

It's rated T for teen but I have a feeling that even if it went to M(17+) that parents would still buy the game and let their kids play it. My 13 year old cousin has a huge collection of gory games and movies, and he probably has some p**n too.

They would need more than just a simple splash of blood here and there to display the kind of damaging effects in BF2. I mean, getting railed with an SRAW rocket would be unbelievably messy. Most people would be running around the game bleeding out. Limbs would be everywhere anytime a fragging is involved(Interesting how at 1 bar of health you operate the same as if you had full, imagine trying to fight with an arm and a leg blown off, system shock, bleeding out and eye damage, yeah...realism huh).

Let's just keep the game arcade-like. No one really needs to see that s**t. If you feel the need to see that stuff, go visit a military hospital, that should fix up your sick f***ing attitude real quick.

yeah i checked it out they got a bunch of blood mods but none of em will work for ranked servers (or majority of servers at all) tis a shame (it looks pretty tight though)

The ratings make little difference as to who plays the game. I know someone who lets there 5 and 8 year olds play GTA because to them games are things children play. I am sure many parents fall into this catagory of ignorance on the subject.

As to blood in game it does not really worry me. I bet if you enable it after 10 minutes playing with it on you won't even notice it. This subject has come up a few times and when it first came up I had to think about it and realised I had not even noticed there was no blood in game.

Yep to keep their rating low--sales.

Too bad they didn't add it to keep all the kids away and ruining online play--LOL

And that clearly explains the lack of parenting skills today and why they (most kids) have no respect for them. Alot of so called adults just shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.
