The other day I was commanding on Songhua, I think it was.
Everything was going well, but it was awfully close. There were a couple of gun squads out there who took my tips and went after whatever I asked them to. They called in a lot of requests for ammo and UAV, which I accepted between bouts of hunting specops away from my assets.
At one point, after whacking one last specops with a shotty I hit caps lock again to see three squads bunched up on a small island surrounded by marines. The request popped up and I could hear someone coming close to me, so I accepted quickly and depatched the needed supplies, about to caps lock out and see who was hunting me.
As soon as I hit the button, the red arty icon appears on them. VOIP cut in ( didn't have a mike up that night), and one of the squad leaders is laughing at me and calling me a sucker.
Right after that, two squadleaders pop in on VOIP and tell me they intend to punish. I type furiously, trying to explain, but to no avail.. They have nowhere to go.
The guy who called it in keeps taunting me on VOIP.
I have no idea how many TKs that got me, as I got booted from the server before the arty had finished its work. I only saw 3 or 4 punishes before that happened.
All in all, it was pretty funny. If the guy who called it in ( he couldn't have picked a better spot), wanted commander, he should have said so...
Moral of the story is be a bit cautious about automatically granting requests when distracted.
