hummm, sounds like you have a genuine problem there man...i run at 1024x768 without a problem and all i have is a AMD sempron 3000+ (2.2Ghz), ATI Radeon x700, and 1.5Mb of ram....so im not quite sure, your rig seems better than mine...is your card 128mb or 256mb? -

Your running a mobility card, which means your using a laptop. If you only have a 15" monitor it might be why.Comment

you know, i have a 22 inch monitor and 800x600 or 1024x768 doesnt fill my screen so im using 1152x864 to fill the screen and yes my performance is slowed by this.Comment

If your using a 22 inch monitor you should force it to 1600x1200. I've heard at that res you don't need AA, but I haven't tryed it.Comment

The graphics card is the killer there. And as most people have said, you have a notebook computer, which is not built for gaming (no matter how much you think it is).Comment

i got me a 21" trinitron (and old dell from ebay but it has served me well and still looks big) my question is, there are various resolutions available but is there a "sweet" spot... a better resolution than the others?Comment

Ati 9600 is the main reason you have to run 800x600. It's a slow card with only 4 pipelines. BF2 is a MAJOR resource hog and really doesn't run well on anything but the fastest graphic cards.Comment
