    Diskeeper 9 Help

I downloaded the trial version of diskeeper 9 so I could hopfully defragment my computer a little better than using the windows defragmenter. However when I installed it and opened the program I can only analyse, I can't defragment or do pretty much do anything else, all of the options to click "defragment" are faded out so I can not click them. Does anyone know how I can get it to work?

I'm sorry but I felt like my game was slowing down, and windows Defragmenter just didnt cut it. I don't know why its starting to slow down again, I've cleared the caches and everything

Yeah, but I've reinstalled XP since then. It worked fine last time, I was reading on the FAQ that it may be something to do with my administar rights becuase im using NTFS but then it tells me to do something what I have no clue how to do, something in Command prompt. I'll find it and paste it

"In order for Diskeeper to have access to move files on NTFS volumes, both SYSTEM and ADMINISTRATOR must have full control over a file (or the directory folder it is in). Diskeeper includes a batch file that sets the access permissions on a disk volume to allow Diskeeper to run properly. This batch file is called setdkacls.bat, and it is located in the directory folder where Diskeeper is installed.

If you find you have made files inaccessible to Diskeeper, or that you have some files inaccessible to Diskeeper, open a command prompt window, change directory to the Diskeeper installation directory, and type:

                        setdkacls x:

where x: is the letter name of the disk volume on which you want to change access permissions.

The setdkacls.bat procedure automates the following sequence of commands:

                        cd /d x:

                        cd \

                        cacls * /e /t /c /g Administrators:F System:F

For more information about the cacls command, type cacls /? at a command prompt.

This batch procedure will only work if the account you are logged onto has been granted access to the file(s) you are wanting to defragment".

Hmm, the message what comes up to tell you how long you have left of the trial period is now saying that its run out, where as yesterday i had 15 days, maybe its becuase i've used it before. I guess I'll try and get the full one from somewhere and hope it works.

Try PerfectDisk, they have a 30 day free trial too. I had Diskeeper for awhile, but I find PerfectDisk to be better and faster for my needs.
