Nobody made you come in here and read the post. Forums are a great way to find information about anything and can be a great learning tool. Unfortunately, people like you have to be spewing fesces out of your mouth because you don't like a certain question.

Pretty much what everyone else said. AA is mainly a cosmetic issue. If you want to show off your system to your friends and your machine can handle it, fire it up to full. You will notice the difference. However for day to day gaming or on a lower spec system i suggest off or 2 x because it does consume some resources.

I use 2 x just to make my deaths look prettier!

it simply just smoothes out the edges of everything that should be straight like if you look at the edge of a wall with it off you will notice that it looks like stairs the higher the anti aliasing the less stairs there are :p

Put AA to the max, if I had 2 7800GTX's I would be so happy. Full Supersampling transparent AA at 16x, holy heavens that's how BF2 was meant to be played!

the best way to spot the difference between AA ON and OFF is look turn it off, go onto a map with a crane in, look at the crane from a distance, take a screenie... then come out of game, turn AA On and take the same screenie, then compare... without AA, crances look really jaged from a distance :P moset opvious thing :P

i have mine set for 2xx because when flying in a helicopter or plane, it smooths out the landscape further away. With it off, i was getting annoyed seeing a hill suddenly drop 10-20 feet because the graphics finally rendered the hill correctly.
