    tank one shot kill

i prefer to play as a tank commander when i can. i never engage in a tank battle when i am afforded a one shot kill unless the enemy has damage.i am though the victum of many one shot kills. i read somewhere that there is a spot on a tank that would produce this ressult. please clue me in so i can play on a level playing field. thanke ---majsmt-----

I have yet to find it, load up single player and practice hitting a tank from all angles, best hits are in the rear treads, one hit is more than half damage. Someone said he found a one shot kill, but said he wasn't telling, and that it was very hard to hit. Hits to the top of the turret do large amounts of damage as well, top being that you have an elevation advantage.

The top of the turret is the best. It's been rumored that a shot to the open hatch will afford an instant kill. I've hit this spot and killed tanks with one round. There was no evidence of smoke before I shot, but the opponents may have been damaged already. I've never bothered testing this in SP.

I've tested it. I even jumped onto the tank to make sure it went in the open hatch.

          2 shots 1 kill.

I spent 37 min trying from all angles. Back, front, side, top, even underneath. NOTHING.

Unless someone posts a video and tells others where to shoot. I will continue to believe it is an urban myth.

Yeah, like I said. It's only happened twice to me and these tanks must have taken damage, I just couldn't see any smoke.

Its no myth... i have had this happen to me when i had full health sitting in a US tank next to a crate... suddenly i was dead and was like WTF!!! If you can work out how to do it it shall be a major advantage, and you would be foolish to come here telling everyone how to do it.

Yeah I was playing once at Karkand and I stood up in one of the buildings and aimed a rocket straight into the top of a tank and it blew up and i'm pretty sure it wasn't hit once before because it was at the start of the game

Happened to me while in the Chinese tank. It was on Dalian and I was on a ridge so slightly tilted, so the top of my tank was exposed. Didn't see where the AT hit exactly, but I assume it was right on the top (From about 150m too, crazy) and the warning went off, got out, few seconds later it exploded.

Ive never been able to get a one shot kill with AT kit but i find the best place to shot on all the tanks is the tracks or the top back behind the turret or the gunners hatch . There is a couple of spots you can one shot kill while useing a tank i know this for a fact on the USMC & MEC tanks but its dam near imposible to hit in real battle and your just better of going for the same places as i mentioned for the AT kit I.M.O. .

I found that it is good to hit the gas tank cap on the very back middle. Seems to work good, and take a crapload of health from a tank.

I can attest to the one shot one kill in tank vs tank battles, for I was the victim of this scenario on Strike at Karkand. I had just aqired a tank, driven it down the ramp to the right of the Square (where the TOW missile is located) and oriented my tank to face right once at the base of the ramp. I found myself face to face with a tank that had just come around the corner. Instinct kicked in and I fired a round just before the other tank was able to get one off and BOOM...I died instantly. I was dumbfounded that a tank could aquire a one shot kill on a full-health tank, so I checked the console for details on my death;sure enough I was killed by the tank. Since I had my tank oriented to face the other tank at the time of the shot, I would have to say the most probable answer for that one shot one kill hit box is in between the Turret and Base of the tank, as Guiest mentioned in this posting. I simply would like to confirm this theory with my own personal experience, for it seems to be the weakest possible place I could have been shot by that specific tank on level ground facing one another.
