Is there a proper manual????

Is there a proper manual for BF2, kind of official?, becouse as a commander in the commandig screen there are lots of objects I do not use, becouse I just do not know whay are they there for.

I do not know of any manual, but why not just load on a single player game and practice the different commander functions to see what that do.
