Ok i keep hearing that the SF kit dosnt show up on a commanders scan but i know for a fact that it does theres been many a time ive been a commander on karkland on the MEC side. What i tend to do as commander is go medic and then stay near the water front on the back base ill do a scan then ill see someone swimming across the water or crossing the bridge .Then ill workout what way there going ill get infront of them throw down some medic kits lie down and shot them as soon as i see them . And normaly 9 times out of 10 there an sf guy this whole you cant be detected by a scan is a MYTH it isnt true the only thing i can put it down to is the time delay between scans . As when you do a scan all you see is a red dot you dont get to see what class they are or anything . So if you see a red dot thats no wear near your artillary and in the middle of a battle on one scan that guy can jump in a jeep flys across the map lay c4 on your artillary and probelry blow it up before you get your next scan . Especialy if your buisy sending orders droping supplys and telling your squads you have a UAV or supplies available. If you don't beleave me well i don't care ill just carry on doing what i do as commander but ill tell you for a fact SF going in on foot are always going to get shot by me. But the guys that go flying in with a vehical are going to be higly successfull in there endeavors espeacialy if they manage to do it between scans and then they take out the UAV and RADAR first. The reason i say that is if i cant see i wont drop artilary im not a maniac commander like some plus if you do that i wont be able to hunt you down and kill you before you can get resupplied and take out the artillary.

I'm really sorry but for me it was just a rumor when BF:2 first came out and within about a week it was confirmed that SF players weren't able to hide from the commanders scan.Originally posted by 18zulukillerOk i keep hearing that the SF kit dosnt show up on a commanders scan...Comment

Im realy glad you know that mate but there are alot of people in differnet posts that are under the impression SF are invisible to scans and i made this post so they understand that it just isnt true.Originally posted by pteganI'm really sorry but for me it was just a rumor when BF:2 first came out and within about a week it was confirmed that SF players weren't able to hide from the commanders scan.Comment

Yeah there was a post here yesterday or over on the EA forums where someone wanted to know if his SF guy was invisable to scan and UAV if he was in a vehicle (suggesting that he was on foot).
Now if I was an SF player, I'd give commander a try at least once just to see what I was up against and I'd know that I could be seen. But if people want to believe this then it's all the better for us commanders :)Comment

As commander I am usually an engineer and I hang out by the base to repair things if necessary.
I see spec ops blowin stuff up all the time on my scan. . . I just spot them, for myself, sneak up and give em a couple of shotgun blasts to the head.
They can't hide from my all seeing sat scan.

I'd wondered about this too. As commander I've noticed two things. First, red dots often turn up at my artillery, etc. This could be explained by non spec ops players accompanying someone who is trying to take out commander assets (e.g. members of the same squad). However, the second thing that I have noticed is that some red dots on the scan seem to degrade faster than others. They'll show up when the scan bar crosses over them but disappear before it reaches the other edge of the screen. I thought that perhaps these were spec ops and that, rather than making them invisible to the scan, the developers had seen fit to reduce the time they appeared on the map. Anyone else noticed this or is it just my over active imagination?Comment
