Hardrive and painting case Q's

HARD DRIVE-

I took an hardrive out of an old old computer (WIN 95) and i want to put it into my new comp, transfer all my music and pictures to that HD then reformat my other HD.

How do i make the HD im inserting a slave? I cant see those tape like connection things in the case, where do i find them for my second HD?

I have got a molex connector.


PAINTING CASE-

I want to spray paint my case, seeing as i have messed around with the inside ALOT the warranty is definalty void. I know what to mask and how to mask it. Alot of the panels on my pc come off.

The pc has a boring plastic cream casing, i want it to be a nice color.

Which shops "high street ones" sell paints for it?

I want spray paints.

You need to move the jumper on the hdd that you want to put in your machine. Look on the hdd and it will show you what position the jumper should be in, depending on your machine the IDE ribbon cable that connects to the system hdd should have an extra connecter on it. Sometimes crap/old machines dont have this second connector, if not you have to buy a new IDE cable.

IMO dont paint your case it will look shite, unless your sure you can do a good job on it. Save some money and buy a nice case, they are not that expensive.

How old is your current machine? Must be a fair age if you still have an IDE hard drive.

As far as painting goes.. use a high gloss ENAMEL.. its shiny (if you like shiny - otherwise get a matte).. pretty if you spray it evenly (do a few LIGHT coats at a resonable distance) its very easy to keep clean.. and it wont chip/peel

????? How old are you child? Big brand companies (such as dell) have BARELY began to use SATA drives on a regular basis.. (within the past 6 months).. Having IDE has nothing to do with age. I haven't seen a board that has ONLY SATA.. and IDE drives are going to be manufactured for years to come
