    M95 Any Good????

HEY GUYS, IM ABOUT TO REACH LANCE CORPORAL AND I NEED TO KNOW IF THE M95 IS ANY GOOD. ALOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT IT BUT ALOT ARENT EVEN SNIPERS. I WANT TO HEAR IT FROM YOU GUYS, THE SILENTLY MOVING, STEALTH ( STUPID COMMANDER MODE ) SHOOTING SNIPERS. THE REASON I WANT TO HEAR FROM SNIPERS IS BECAUSE IM A SNIPER AND THEY KNOW OUR NEEDS.

If I liked playing sniper, I'd unlock it. It looks cool.

Ok, from a sniper, the M95:

Pros: Can shoot through armored vehicle and aircraft glass, has higher power than the semi-auto snipers, and damn it looks good.

Cons: Same power as the M24, not as accurate as the M24 though, has bolt-action instead of semi-auto(i think they were going to put in the M82 until they nerfed all the unlocks into alternatives instead of actual better weapons), And it has a distinct here-i-am sound.

Verdict: If you can get a good aim at a Humvee driver or a heli pilot, then you're good with this, you can get 6 kills if you kill the driver of the BH. Ain't the fastest firing gun, nor the most accurate, and it's dang loud. I would reccomend you get this unlock if you really are a sniper.

              Pro:
Can get many headshots on static targets.
              Very accurate.
Can shoot helo pilots while there hovering over flag.

              Cons:
Takes 2 shots to a body to kill someone.
Takes time to get use to.

It's a good weapon. Most people say it's **** but these are the people who expect to kill with every single shot. Just find the good camping spots on maps and you will get quite a few kills and quite a few kill assists.

This gun ain't going to get you as many points as other classes such as Medic or Support but at 2points a kill you can get average of 15-20 points round.

As a sniper rifle, it is much less accurate compared to the m24 (partly due to the scope from hell). Compared to the SVD/chinese gun it's "different" - which may be good, depending on your style. You can shoot through glass, although in practice this is incredibly over-rated.

Someone else suggested in another thread that if you're happy with the SVD/chinese rifle, then don't get the m95 - I'd agree with them.

It's also worth remembering that, on average, 50% of the time you will be USMC with the m24 available, 25% MEC, 25% chinese... (you will have the m24 available 'half the time', not 1/3 as you might assume).

Has anyone considered going sniping with the L85A1? I unlocked the M95 but have found that I prefer to use this especially on the city maps.

I picked one off a corpse, and as I remember it had a beautiful scope on it.

The spec op weapons are also insanely accurate in single shot mode - the unlockable g36c is supposed to have similar accuracy to the m95/SVD/chinese rifle, just with a full auto mode, and no scope.

The L85 Medic weapon is a bit over-rated, I wish I had unlocked the Barrat instead when I hit Lance Corporal. Now I have to wait another 6500 points! Bah. The number of times I've wished for a weapon that would penetrate armoured glass...

I have not been impressed with the 95M, my first unlock.

EA Games, Dice, or whoever is either ignorant when it comes to ballistics or willfully ignoring it for the sake of making this "Game" more balanced. The 95M does not do more damage than any other rifle I'm aware of in game. I have fired, point blank, into somebody's torso who ends up killing me with a couple of pistol rounds. A .50 BMG round will not only defeat ALL available personal body armor out there, it will certainly incapacitate with one shot, if not kill. I HAVE downed a helo with it, but that singular event hasn't justified the rifle in my mind. I also wish ALL "sniper" rifles had thinner crosshairs. They're so thick the completely obscure the target at ranges I like to reach out to.

In hindsight, I should have unlocked the L85. My guess is that it's much the same as the spec-ops M4 variant, but for the medics.

i play sniper a lot so this was my 1st (and only) unlock so far. i play support a lot too and wished i unlocked the pkm instead. its very rare that you can shoot someone out of a helo or vehicle unless they are basically sitting still. if they move, forget it. i managed to kill the pilot of a attack helo twice last night because he was hovering over the flag. i prefer the m24. the crosshair is really thick, making it hard to tell where you are aiming unless you are pretty close. very slow reload time. the only pro is that it can shoot through glass and that it might be more powerful than the mec/china snipers, although i can sometimes get 2 shot kills with those.

I'm also a sniper from Beaverton, OR. I haven't unlocked the M95 but I'm planning on it. The power is greater than the M24 and I figure it will turn some of my two shot kills into singles.

Sorry, but the damage is exactly the same as the m24 (it uses the same damage table) - 2 shot kills will remain 2 shot kills.
