Vid card for under $250?

I recently sold my WoW account and have 250 dollars (paypal) to buy a new video card. I might try to get one off ebay, Anyone know what card I could expect to get...or should I get? (AGP)

Ok, you really might want to upgrade your mem to at least 1 gig, and your processor might bottleneck ya. But anyways, on ebay u should bee able to find a GT or a X800XL for under 250 bucks, possibly a X800XTPE if you're lucky, on the ATi.com website there's a refurbished X800XTPE for preorder for only 229.99, thats a good deal if you accept refurbs.

Get the ultra out of those two, there's only11 hours left for the bid, make sure you get the highest bid, the ultra is definetly going to run it max settings unless your cpu bottlenecks your vid card.

In my experience, no. Refurb/remanufactured is good. I read somewhere, that most of the time, there's nothing wrong with the guts of the hardware, just a small problem with a connector or something.

They fix it, but can't sell it as new.

I once bought a 4x CDRW drive remanufatured. This was when new ones were $200, and i got it for $100. It lasted 3 years until i upgraded to a 24x model, then i gave it to a friend, and he used it for another year or 2.

Was still working fine. These days, you can get a good DVDRW drive for $75.

Anyway, generally refurbs are fine. Most will have at least a 30 day warranty, and some come with several years manufacturer warranty. It's hard to argue with that.
