I was also wishing for this feature and I'm sad it isn't in.

But...I have true hatstick cockpit viewing set up using JoyToKey. Works excellently..I'm mucho happy now

Like Talus said, Joy2Key can add mouselook functionality to your hatswitch.

Myself, I use a TrackIR. By slightly turning my head I can look around naturaly.

I just wish Dice would remove the bf2 mouselook limitation so you could look around while flying without interrupting the flight controls.

yeah, I was bummed to find out my x45 setup didn't seem to enable hatswitch in BF2..

that TrackerIR system looks kinda cool..
